Very inexpensive and does the trick when you simply don’t feel comfortable relying on the MMI, especially when it has lied to you about the level in the past. Not sure why Audi didn’t put one of these in as a backup, but so glad to have purchased it here. Let’s just say, in the past, the MMI said less than 1 qt left (low) when it was actually full. I barely put in 1qt to get me to the shop when bam!! —smoke everywhere from overfilling. Thank goodness the shop took care of it free under warranty. Anyhow— if you have an Audi, you NEED this. For reference- mine is a 2013 A4 2.0T and I didn’t have to modify the top—perfect fit.

Fits perfectly, arrived sooner than expected

This is such a relief, to finally get a normal, simple, accurate, means of checking the oil level. It seems accurate, so far testing at the “full” level (whereby the stupid screen display doesn’t indicate if you might be a little TOO full). This is being used on an Audi A5 convertible, 2T, 2011. I love the most recent new car I bought, a 2017 Accord... it came with a real oil dipstick, a real trans fluid dipstick, a real handbrake, a spare wheel, a CD player, no CVT, no turbo (it’s a V6), and the car doesn’t slam to a halt if you open the door while reversing. The only downside is keyless entry.

On a 2021 Audi A5 it works but its a little long. I don’t leave it in, only use it to check level when I am doing an oil change, and it works well if you don’t push it all the way in, otherwise I drive the car with the black plug

It works and is accurate. I used it on my 2009 B8 A4 Avant. Beware it does rub on the under hood heat shield. I’m scared it might crack eventually with the engine moving around and such.

Great dipstick with accurate readings. I use this as a service tool for oil changes on all my B8 A4, A5, A6, Q5 etc 2.0T customers. I also have a permanent one in my personal car that's been trimmed. You need to cut off the yellow ring in order to keep your hood insulation from getting damaged on some models, if you choose to make it permanent. I've sold several of these to customers who's hood switches are broken. Tip : If your MMI never registers an oil level, your hood latch switch might be broken. The MMI will not read your oil level unless it sees the hood has been opened and closed for service. This dipstick is a quick work around for those not getting an accurate reading on the MMI.

I have been looking for a dipstick for my 2023 Audi A4 (EA888 gen4) And it had been hard to find one at any local shops with the right diameter capsize. This one fits great even though it says only up to 2017. I can confirm it fits my 2021 and 2023 A4's. Along with my friends 2019 A4. It does not hit the hood like some people are saying I'm sure they must have ordered the wrong dipstick for their car. It fits perfect.
