Travel Duffel Bag (Carry On Size) & Gym Bag w/Shoe Compartment by Taskin

I bought my taskin bag roughly two weeks ago, it was going to be my all purpose gym and life bag. I needed a bag that I can carry laptop and gym clothes in an orderly fashion; this bag is perfect for that. I love the design and the compliments people give me when I wear it! Fashionable and functional! I thought to myself I have a winner. Unfortunately, the shoulder straps are pretty weak; I was exiting the train station (Bart) and straps got caught in gate as I was walking, the straps ripped off. I was angry because this is not the quality I expect for 120$. The force of impact was not even great. Overall, beautiful and functional but too fragile.The customer service of this company is simply amazing! I had a complaint about my bag and the president of the company personal handled it! It was quick and expedient and not what I expected. He was genuinely kind and wrote me a personal note addressing my complaints. This was not a computer generated response. I was thoroughly impressed! I am using new bag and I love. I personally like to carry it from the hand straps because of broad shoulders. But I love this bag so much! And now I love the CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thanks BOB!!!!!!!

I wanted to love this bag. I watched the trailer video on Amazon and was sold. It was packaged well for shipping, but smaller than I expected upon arrival. I was disappointed that it only came with one packing cube when the trailer advertised many. I bought the available Taskin packing cubes, but they did not have the compression zippers. Then Taskin released the compression zipper cubes that were originally advertised in the trailer, so I bought those.[Quick review on the packing cubes: I like that one side is mesh because I can quickly identify what is inside, and the “damp item” section, but I didn’t need every cube to have that feature. I did not pack enough to need to use the compression feature. I would have liked more visibility into the cubes, or a clear vinyl slot for a label (“underwear-pants-shirts”, etc.) because I was opening and closing the cubes nonstop to find an item, even though they were very well organized.]Bag review: double zipper requires two luggage locks-wish this could be locked in one place, maybe closer to the magnetized flap. The flap is stiff, so it takes up floor space or needs to be leaning against the wall/furniture when the flap is open. This isn’t a big deal, but it took up more space than anticipated. The outer side zipped areas are tight and small, really only good for flat or compressed items like underwear. The outer folded flap pocket is very small- could fit a phone but I wouldn’t trust it staying in there. My biggest disappointment is that the large strap broke off before I even got to my terminal at the airport!! The large strap is secured at 4 points by little fabric loops that are sewed in with one seam. Two of them broke off and the other two were so loose that I had to ditch the strap for the duration of my trip. (Thankfully the folded strap did fit into one of the outer side zippered pockets, but there was not much room to spare.) I had to used the two small hand straps which seem to be significantly more securely attached. There is not really enough room under the hand straps to hold the bag over your shoulder, so I had to hold the bag by hand.I will be returning this bag, but want to note a few cool features: the underside of the bag has a place to grab which was convenient for carrying the bag vertically when walking down a plane aisle. The fabric is very thick and seems durable. The bag came with removable dividers-I chose not to use them since they took up space, but still a nice feature. The underside of the flap and insides have several small zippered mesh sections - while I did not use a single one of them, I could see them being useful for phone chargers, headphones, etc....however, keep in mind that the stiff flap can’t easily be opened on a plane so if you need something from your bag, better take it out before stowing under the seat or in the overhead compartment. Btw this fits easily under a normal Jetblue seat. It was also short enough to fit in the Jetblue overhead- perpendicular to the plane direction.... aka it only needs a narrow section in the overhead space.Tips: I was able to fit more into the bag when I turned the cubes vertically. I did not use the shoe space for shoes because it jutted into the bag more than I liked, but a rolled up rain jacket fit perfectly.********ADDENDUM: 10/17/2018:*********I added 1 star ( 2 --> 3) to my previous review because I am so impressed with the outreach from Taskin. I was contacted directly by the President, Bob, who messaged me and then sent a personalized letter with a generous gift and offer to correct the situation. I initially was not going to accept the replacement they offered, but given the kind initiative, I would really like to give this company another chance. It is rare to find a company with such great customer service these days!

I love everything about this bag! This company has the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Love the product so much I will be looking into all their other products.

I saw the video and pictures and it seemed pretty convenient for both gym and traveling, but you can't really fit here everything they suggest they fit in the video. There's no way my shoes really fit it en “shoe compartment” (my size is 43’) if I also want to carry other staff, because then shoes would occupy more than 1/3 of the space in the whole bag. The quality of the bag seems good, but I don't think I’ll be able to use ir for its intended purpose.Update: the strap broke off the bag on the very first use (see second pic), so I'm now starting to doubt quality too. The strap is now useless. For the price I paid, it’s been a disappointment.

would give maybe 4 at best. but there is room for improvement Pros; First impressions I like the size as it easily fits in overhead bins (even on smaller planes) under seat (of Economy Comfort/+) and in gym lockers. I like the magnet open top for the compartment.Cons; Bag came in with a "funky" smell mixed between chemicals and some scented (floral) pack they inserted in the bag. Bag doesnt feel to premium, the straps (shoulder and hand) can both be improved, zippers and metal handle also could be improved. If you want to put a lock on the bag you'll need 2 locks (lock zipper on the loop where the strap attaches to bag) as zippers don't come close to each other to use a standard luggage lock

I have been searching(and buying) various travel bags for over 30 years. This Bag Is The Pinnacle of Carry on luggage!!! From the day I received it, this has been my best carry. The design has been well thought out and material and craftsmanship is head and shoulders above any I have utilized. In a class by itself for sure. If you get the opportunity, buy this bag and the accessorized packing cubes with it (sold separately but also worth every dollar). To be used anywhere and everywhere!! Fit, Form, and Function! It's the best I have used to date.
