The assembly took longer than expected, because the drawers were not that easy to assemble. The pre-made holes are not threaded for the screws and it took a lot of force to get the screws to turn once they were half way in. I got blisters on my palms from the screw driver because of the force i had to apply. The pictures and description gave me the impression that I could have the drawers on whatever side I chose. This is not true. If you are laying on the bed face up the drawers on your left. I can barely open them because the bed is so close to my wall, and I can't move the bed because that is the best spot for it otherwise my other furniture does not fit. Also one of the side pieces was broken into as soon as I opened the box. This is the down side to the particle board material; it falls apart easily. However, South shore had a # on the instructions that you can call to replace hardware and damaged parts. The finished product is nice.

I purchased this when I moved into my new place. It arrived on time in two boxes. Both boxes were packed well and all of the pieces arrived intact and were labeled to correspond with the instructions.The instructions were mostly pictures with little to no text. But the pictures were pretty simple to figure out, and as a visual learner I figured it out pretty quickly.I installed this bed myself and I think it took me about 3-5 hours (Sorry for the wide range, but I didn't time how long I was actually working, just noted what time I started and what time I finished - and I know I took a few breaks in between).I actually made a mistake towards the end of the process (I kept forgetting to lock the cam screws in place and at one point I installed the side upside down). Thankfully it was not hard to fix my mistake. Cumbersome and frustrating, yes. Difficult, no.If you work carefully and sort your materials beforehand, assembling the bed won't be a major undertaking.I've been sleeping on it for about two months now and I haven't had any problems. The bed itself is sturdy (note: I'm 5'11 and curvy) and the drawers hold a good amount of weight. I'm using one of the drawers to hold about 4 old chunky textbooks and have no issues with opening and closing the drawer.Excellent bed. Excellent price. Would buy again.

We got this bed for our four year old daughter as part of her new bedroom set. My husband was able to put it together in a couple of hours without much complaint. We got it into her bedroom and the mattress on it. My daughter loved it! I love that it is close to the ground and it does not require box springs. However, the next night her dresser was finished and we went to rearrange her bedroom. The bed was VERY difficult to move. There is no good place to hold on to it to slide or push it. We ended up opening the drawers so there would be a place to grab it, but then the drawers got off balance. Also, the drawer tracks are made of plastic. They seem fine right now, but hopefully they will hold up. The drawers are very roomy! A lot bigger than I was expecting! You cannot use a dust ruffle with the bed unless you don't use the drawers or mind having them covered up. I have high hopes that this bed will hold up for my daughter and be a great purchase!

I bought it for my daughter who is 14 years old. My daughter absolutely loves This bed. She loves the three storage drawers under the bed. She immediately find use for them. The bed was not too difficult to assemble. I was able to do it completely by myself even though it took me a while. The bed is self is pretty sturdy, so far no problems whatsoever. After I assembled the drawers I was afraid that I didn’t correctly but then I noticed that my bed was not perfectly lined up. Once everything is in the right angle and the drawers that great. My daughter really loves it.

I have to say that this rating is based on my just turned 13-year-old daughters ability to assemble the bed. I came home from work and she had taken one piece at a time upstairs to her room and put the whole thing together herself. The instructions must’ve been easy to follow because there was only one part that she did wrong which was the drawer. After I looked at it, she reversed one of the slides on the drawer and everything fit together perfectly. When I asked her how long it took, she said that she wasn’t sure exactly because she was watching TV and assembling it after bringing it upstairs one piece at a time… Overall the entire process took my 13-year-old about five hours. We are very happy with the bed.

We needed a full-size bed platform, and didn't want to schlep to the big, blue Swedish flat-pack store, which is a couple hours drive each way for us. The good news is that this South Shore bed was available via Amazon Prime, at a not-unreasonable price.However, it is very cheap goods. It's made from laminated particle board, which I knew going in, but it's cheap, crumbly particle board. The drawer slides are plastic. The actual flat platform that the mattress rests on is thin ply-board, and putting concentrated weight on one specific area of the mattress (like sitting up, or a toddler jumping up and down) flexes the boards quite a bit.The drawers are also pretty small, given the size that they could be. Also, the top edges of the bed frame are square (not rounded), meaning that when you swing your legs off the bed and your thighs hit the edge of the bed, it is uncomfortable because a relatively sharp edge is pressing into you.Assembly was a bit of a chore, but not any more so than any other assemble-it-yourself furniture. It took about 3 hours from start to finish, working at a leisurely pace.Overall, I do not recommend this bed, and would not buy it again. Instead, I would endure the long drive to the big, blue box store and get something a few notches higher in quality.

this bed is a valuable item. however, the assembling map is not easy to read, assembling of pieces is very easy. the same size and measurement which has been mention. I like it. just be mindful that you have to receive two big packages of pieces. For me, I received only one package that had to go to UPS and take it. I appreciate the amazon customer service and delivery department for a quick track of the second package.

It was for my 16 year old son, very sturdy and easy to put together, I found it cheaper than Ikea and great quaility

Just put this together last night. Easy to assemble. Well packaged for transportation and all pieces were in package. Couldn’t be happier with the quality for the price.

Do not recommend this frame to anyone. The quality is the absolute worst and I think any IKEA bedframe would be much sturdier than this one. A bit difficult to describe, but when you put the frame together, if you move one end of the bed, the entire frame kinda curves because of the way it's built... give it a try and you'll see what I mean- this is a huge red flag as I've never seen a bedframe that does that when you're trying to move it? Don't even get me started with the drawers, completely misaligned and they make the bedframe look more shabbier than it already is. One of the slat pieces was shattered during shipping, I requested a replacement through their website- and they ship me the wrong piece even AFTER I uploaded a photo to confirm the broken piece.Do not bother with this bed frame and get your money's worth elsewhere.

The bed was easier to assemble than other reviews had lead me to believe so I was happy about that. I also read that the drawers are sharp, crooked and don't fit right which all turned out to be entirely true. They look terrible and I'm not handy enough to figure how to jig them into a more aesthetically pleasing look. Even still, my little loves it so I'd buy it again for the price and the functionality.
