May 12, 2024 addendum to original post below: About three and a half weeks ago I recommended this Varidesk Standing Mat to a Walgreens pharmacist, Sandra, who is always standing at her desk filling prescriptions and suffers from severe back pain. I urged her several times to get this mat, and she finally gave in. After getting and using the mat, she has thanked me repeatedly saying everything I said about this mat being fantastic and great was true. She even got a second mat to use at home in her kitchen. I originally wrote the review below in November 2023 and I am even more in love with the VariDesk Standing Mat (and my VariDesk Pro Plus 36 desk converter) even more than ever. Original post: This is exactly the perfect balance between firmness and softness I was looking for in a standing desk mat. I have neck stenosis, toes' numbness, and other leg, back, neck, and shoulder medical issues, so I bought a Varidesk Pro 36 standing desk. Then I ordered a Comfylife mat because many said it was great in the comments on the desk. But I returned my Comfylife because for me it was too squishy: my feet kept moving around and it made my legs feel more tired, not less. Over 7 months ago, I received and have been using this slightly more expensive standing mat by Vari and it really was worth the slightly more extra cash for this deluxe mat. In my mind, this is far superior to my previous mat because although it adds comfort to the feet, it is much firmer. I have a rug, not a flat surface, but this mat still works on top of a rug, without feeling unbalanced. I feel really stable. Please note this mat is for standing in front of your standing desk converter/desk only. It is not designed for placing a rolling computer chair on it. You should use a computer chair mat for that instead. This is a perfect standing desk mat for those who stand at a standing desk like the VariDesk Pro Plus 36 or 48. It is so light, that it's easy to move out of the way if you want to place your chair at your standing desk and convert the standing desk to the sitting position. In fact, I just did that today while editing this response. When I initially posted, I stood up and typed my response comfortably while standing on the Vari Standing Desk Mat. Please note I also use gel-filled indoor slippers with medically-prescribed orthotic inserts I placed inside these slippers, plus I wear medically prescribed 20-30mmHg compression stockings that are knee-high. No single device helps those of us with medical issues, but definitely this standing desk mat by Vari is an important piece in my self-care tools, along with my VariDesk Pro Plus 36 (non-electric version) Standing Desk Converter, gell-filled slippers, orthotic inserts, and compression stockings.

It is thinner than I imagined, but it is okay. Is it worth $65, no.

This is comfortable and lightweight. It’s a good size for my desk.

This mat is a little pricey but you can see and feel the difference in quality. I have only had it for about a week and will edit post once I have a chance to test out durability.

This is not a good product. It started tearing immediately after using and there are little pieces of black fabric everywhere leaving white spots on the mat. It also slides and you can trip over it. Very unhappy!
