This is what you want for Pu Ehr tea!
This is the shnizzle. Perfectly fermented and is the traditional brew, reserved for the Emperor. Break off a quarter for two cups and 1/2 for a pot. Love it! Been drinking it since 2017. Higher in caffeine than most other teas at a price that doesn't break the bank. It's my morning go to. I had a question and received a super prompt and friendly response from the manager himself, who then sent me some samples of other products they carry for free. I wouldn't mind meeting him someday.

"Rinse" and then steep briefly
*Please read the additional note added at the bottom, since the first review*Initial Review:I've had roughly half a dozen different Pu'erh teas, so I'm neither new to Pu'erh nor an expert. This is so unpleasant that I almost wonder if it's turned bad or something. I love the earthy notes of Pu'erh teas, but this tea just tastes foul. The packaging is nice, and I got it quick, but the taste is remarkably unpleasant. I tried two cakes of it (each about 10g), and both had this problem. This tea had come up as one of the first Pu'erhs in my search. And it had many good ratings, so I thought it might be good. But now I'm wondering if the company has gamed the ratings.I also recently got the "Yunnan Longrun Pu-erh Tea Cake-Caiwei (Year 2012,Fermented, 200g)" from Amazon, which was also delivered quickly. It's a bit more expensive at $20 (as of this writing), but way way better. Maybe try that instead.*update, about a month later*I returned to this tea and tried it again, just for grins. This time I tried rinsing it twice, and a bit longer than I'd rinsed it last time. By "rinsing" I mean that I steeped it twice (about 5 seconds each time, with fresh boiling water), throwing out the water each time. After the rinsing, with a very brief steeping time of just about 8 seconds, the tea wasn't too bad. The "off" flavor I'd tasted before became more of a flavor rather than tasting like it'd spoiled. This doesn't seem like a very high quality tea, but for the price it's not so bad. Just be sure to rinse it and steep it for a very short time. Repeated steepings are good, too (meaning steeping the same tea leaves again, with fresh boiling water, to make additional cups).

Wonderful flavor, very cultural packaging :-)
Been drinking tea for the past 22 years; almost entirely varieties of green tea, and many of those premium. I had never previously tried any type of pu-erh before obtaining this one. It is positively the tastiest tea that I have ever drunk. My previous experience with other super-black teas was that they had a plain taste of tannin. I know this pu-erh is also tannin, yet it has a completely different taste than the tannins of other black tea varieties. It is much softer and smoother than any other black tea, even when served darker ( more concentrated ) than other teas. And because it can be served more concentrated than other varieties, a more robust flavor than other teas can be obtained.I first shred one patty via a simple tower grater common in most kitchens. The tea then goes into 18 fl oz of water, which I heat in a small pot over an electric burner just until it begins to boil. Then I stir the brew, pull it off the burner and put a lid on the pot. Timer is then started. Every 60 secs I restir briefly, until the alarm sounds at 3 minutes. Stir one more time and then strain it to separate the liquid from the solids. After the initial servings, the remainder of this concentrate is allowed to cool down before storage in a glass jar. We have never observed spoilage when stored at room temperature for about a week.We use only ¼ cup of this concentrate per 15-16 fl oz serving in our large mugs. Thus, we get about 8-9 servings per batch of concentrate made from one of these pu-ehr tea patties.I have already repurchased another package for ourselves, and two more as gifts for a friend and a family member. Its rustic bamboo wrapper makes a striking impression, really driving home what a very special bit of Chinese culture it is :-)

So bad not even sure I should put it in my compost pile.
This is the most horrible tasting tea. It smells disgusting and is undrinkable. The instructions say to toss out the first batch and then steep again. I had to toss the second batch also. Not even sure this is tea.

Jinglong Pu-erh is now my go to morning tea!
Jinglong Pu-erh is now my go-to morning tea and I absolutely love it. The tea is rich and strong and very flavorful. I truly look forward to my Pu-erh tea every morning.I like to add a small piece of candied ginger to the cup and a bit of cream too - so wonderful and a lovely way to wake up. The tea comes in round cakes about the size of a half dollar that are easily snapped into 4 quarter pieces.I then put a small tea piece into a tea brewing basket and brew in near boiling water for about 5 minutes. If you want to add a top-notch electric tea kettle to your repertoire, I highly recommend the Cuisinart CPK-17 PerfecTemp 1.7-Liter Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle. 4000+ positive reviews = I LOVE MINE.Also, I like to take my tea with me during my commute and I highly recommend the Contigo travel mug - it has a no spill top - for real - no spill!! and my tea stays hot for a solid hour - and I do mean HOT. Look on Amazon for: Contigo AUTOSEAL West Loop Stainless Steel Travel Mug , 16 oz.I'm an espresso and latte guy but I like to add Pu-erh to my morning ritual as well for balance and a bit less caffeine. Plus my digestion improves after drinking a cup of this tea and I notice that the tea keeps my hunger at bay as well. This is a fine company and clearly very dedicated to their craft.Great tea, great find and highly recommended!!
