Even though it says this set is designed for 8 years and up, I ordered it for a smart 7 1/2 year old who usually can read and follow instructions very well. Apparently, 8 years is the minimum age because she wasn't able to understand the instructions fully, however, she still had a ball with it and just created her own designs. I'm betting in a few months if she tackles it again, she will be successful. It was still a happily received Christmas gift so I highly recommend.

This was a terrible kit, and a waste of money. There are poor directions, and the pieces fit poorly. At one point the next step was to fit together several very dark blue pieces but the picture showed no lines showing how they fit together. We threw the whole thing in the trash at this point.Save yourself...don't buy this kit!

It’s really cute. I bought it for my wife for Christmas. Comes with Kevin the Burd, Dug the Dog, 3 baby Kevin’s, and a Walker with tennis balls. However, it is not a Lego set. Instructions are difficult and not clear. The bricks are difficult to assemble and figment is an issue. My wife had to get my son to help her assemble it. Price was reasonable, but wish it had the quality of a Lego set. Glad I bought it, but 1 is sufficient.

This was such a fun quick build! As a huge fan of the movie, I was really excited to see this completed. Though scale is different than the Lego 'UP' house, they are still a cute companion. Kevin was able to stand by herself, though precariously due to long legs. The babies, walking cane, and Dug were super easy to build and my 8 year old did those while I worked on Kevin. The colors are so bright and vibrant and fit together well.

I was scared to purchase with all the negative reviews, but this turned out great. The pieces snapped together pretty well. Kevin can and does stand up fine on the legs without support. With her kids and the tennis ball cane, it’s adorable. And the price is quite reasonable.The instructions are more difficult to follow though, so it’ll take patience and careful attention since the color on the instructions can be confusing. For example, royal blue pieces, but navy blue/black color on instructions, and the difference between that color, actual black, and the purple color are similar in the instructions. A child would definitely need help from an adult. And your eyes will be put to the test. But if you carefully follow the instructions, this will and can turn out very good.Note: we didn’t build Dug since he comes with the Lego Up House.

My daughter built the Lego Up house and has it on display in her room. I got her this to add to the display and she loves it. The bricks are Lego-compatible, though you'd only need that if you are connecting them to a flat board or maybe putting one of the birds on the house.The characters in this set are pretty big compared to the Up house, but the whole scene looks great if you are a fan of the movie.
