Problem drinking SOLVED!!!
Hi, I bought this Autospout Water bottle and also had difficulty drinking out of the spout :>(( without loosening the cap. But by untwisting the cap it then linked....not good. I then looked at the straw....it was straight on the bottom, so took a small household hacksaw and angled it ..... hooray! I can now drink out of it with ease. My suggestion to Coleman is to redesign the end of the straw!!

Keeps water cold, drinking mouth piece isn't so good
I own two of these water bottles. One was a little bit older, so there wasn't a straw attached to it. It had a really bad leaky lid, but I found a way to manage it by keeping the grooves where the lid screws on dry, dry, dry.I have been through more water bottles than I can even count and Coleman by far keeps my water colder for longer. Unquestionably so.Here's my issue. The drinking spout is bad. It was bad on the old version and worse with the straw on this version. I had to cut the straw at an angle to get it to suck up water. While its functional, it still only pulls up probably 75% of what it should.Beyond all of the mouth piece drinking issues, it's a great bottle and keeps my water cold for at least 8 hours and no other water bottle has done that so successfully for me. I will keep buying this product, but I wish they would fix the drinking mouthpiece issue or stop changing it.

Vent seal causes straw issues. Read for easy solution.
First off, I have purchased 4 of these bottles and love them. They are durable and water stays cold forever, though not as long outside in the black one for obvious reasons. I have three of the regular spout, which I prefer, and one with the straw spout, which is nice while driving. As many people have mentioned, the straw has issues and feels like it is sucking air and is difficult to pull from. Some have resorted to cutting the straw at an angle. Cutting the straw may help if your straw is making contact with the bottom, but I doubt that is the problem in many cases. The real issue for me, and I suspect for most is the small black piece of rubber on the bottom of the lid (circled in the picture). This let's air into the bottle when you suck water out, preventing a vacuum. I'm not sure exactly why it feels like youre getting bubbles when it's stuck, but if you unstick the rubber piece, it will work much better. Just take something pointed to lift an edge and clean under and around it with a tooth brush or something. DON'T REMOVE IT! I did just to investigate, and I was able to get it back in, but it was tricky, and most people won't be able to. It is easy to test if this is your problem. Just unscrew the lid about a quarter turn so air can enter through the lid threads. If it works fine then, check out the vent. If you think it's the straw making contact with the bottom, remove the straw and try it. If it works fine without straw at all, then that may be your issue after all, but I doubt that will be the case. To make sure your straw isn't leaking air in the middle, with the lid removed, put your finger over the bottom of the straw and see if you can pull any air through the mouth piece. If you can't, your straw is sealed properly. I think this particular straw design will always gurgle a little, but it shouldn't be too bad if the vent is working properly.

It is extremely difficult to drink from the straw, so hard to get suction because of air bubbles.
Unfortunately, I read the reviews AFTER I purchased this product because I have always trusted the name of Coleman. But after the problem of extremely poor straw function, I did read the reviews and now see this is a common problem. So I tried cutting a slant on the bottom of the straw....it did not work! I am very disappointed in this product and deem it not usable.

HEADS UP: The lid on the black one is different from the lids on the red and green ones.
I love these bottles and the lids. I have a green one and a red one. They fit in my bike holder, car cup holder, and I can drink from them with one hand by pressing the button. You don't have to deal with needing a second hand to unscrew or unflip something. We live in Texas and it is hot so I often fill mine up with ice and water at the start of the day and sip throughout the day. My partner is often trying to steal mine so I ordered him one in black. NEGATIVE THING: for whatever reason, the black one came with a straw lid. Those are a pain to clean and get gross quickly. We kept it but are grumpy about it. :)

It works but makes a noise each time you try to drink, with or without the straw.
So, with or without the straw on the cap, this thing makes a weird squeaking sound when you are trying to drink water. The only way for the squeaking sound to not happen is if you allow it to pour really slowly into your mouth.

Straw - keep or remove?
I really like this water bottle. I didn't care for the straw. It was hard for me to pull water from the bottle - so I removed the straw! I like it much better this way. I do need to tilt the bottle which is okay with me. I now get far more water in a shorter period of time. I like really cold water and this fits the bill. I threw some ice cubes it the bottle with some cold tap water to make the stainless inside the bottle really cold. I next emptied out the ice and tap water. Finally I put in refrigerated bottled water. The bottle stays cold until each drop of water is gone. It is a keeper!

Well made
Great bottle! Keeps my water cold for as long as it takes me to drink it. Very sturdy and I am likeing the rubber anti-slip on the bottom. Simple one handed operation especially useful while driving. I found a little cleaning kit made especially for any water bottles. It consists of two brushes, made for bottle itself and straw part of it.

Leaks... 😔
Bottle is made well, water stays cold and it looks good. My issue is the bottle leaks and dribbles while sideways.I have the bottle on my backpack sleeve and lay it on my lap while on the train. Over time it begins to leak water on my lap.The lock is engaged and the cap is firmly tightened.Sent a warranty claim online but never head back. Will call and see what happens.

Clean straw, cold drink!
This water bottle is perfect for use with a mask! The drink stays cold for many hours. The spout/straw is covered when closed, so it's not exposed to every nearby cough or sneeze. Also stays clean for outdoor activities. Very little mask movement is needed, it's quick to get a drink and get your mask back in place so you don't get accused of breaking the rules. It also doesn't take much handling to get it open, so the weird taste of hand sanitizer doesn't transfer. It's perfect for post pandemic return to work!

Absolutely brilliant!
This is a BRILLIANT bottle! I bought it to use in the car and at least for this purpose I couldn't wish for anything better. It fits the cup holder very well, the insulation keeps the water cool even when it's hot, and the drinking "arrangement" is great! You can open it with one hand (and easily) and you are able to drink without taking your eyes off the road. Seriously I can't think of any other feature I'd like this bottle to have. I've since bought one for my partner as well. Highly recommend!

Leaked after about a month
was good for a month or so and now it leaks a lot from the autospout button. I only hand washed it and it wasn't damaged...disappointing that returns closed a couple weeks ago then it breaks and now its garbage and I can't get my money back or a replacement 🙄

Would buy again if I ever lost it
Sleek, long-lasting sturdy design, lockable, every feature you could reasonably ask for. Even the non-slip base works beautifully when you need it.Not recommended for hot beverages unless you remember to release the pressure by unscrewing the top for just a second before popping up the spout; or else the inner straw will ensure that something will definitely spray out.Otherwise, that straw is one of the best things about this design. Being able to drink all the way to the bottom without needing to hoist the whole bottle up in front of your face; now that is a truly freeing experience.
