Wasn't sure what to expect with this streamer especially after having a negative experience with the ifi streamer due to setup issues and stability issues.I had no such issues with this device and have been more than happy with it's sound, especially considering it's low price. It has improved my systems sound noticeably offering more definition and separation in addition to improved fullness and depth.It works well with Daphile, after updating the firmware with the DLNA update available on the fiio website. It also offers Rune and bluetooth connectivity options but I have not explored those.Once setup it has required no additional configuring or messing with it to get it just play, which was a constant issue with the ifi Stream.For its modest price it has impressed me immensely. Are there better sounding streamers? It's possible especially considering how subjective the hi-fi experience can be due to a variety of factors, but I have little to find fault with this unassuming little device. It's cost is low, it's for the most part easy to set up, doesn't require constant fussing with and its sound is excellent.

If all you need is a Roon endpoint, this will do the job.However, if you’re looking for anything beyond that, I’d recommend going with the Wiim Pro instead.

FiiO does make good products. I have the great R7 steamer and other products but this one is a big miss on the ease of use. I have been faffing about for two days now trying to get it connected to my wifi to no avail. All my other streamers (3 in total) were all plug and play but this little monster is NOT!!! FiiO should know that not everyone is a bloody programmer and this should be plug and play but is NOT! The supplied owners manual is no use either. Going to give it one more attemp tomorrow and if I can't sort it out I will return it and get another WiiM, that are plug and play.Edit. Finally got it to connect to my wifi via wired connection but is still glitchy as it drops out frequently as opposed to my other steamers. A real pain as I have to mess about reconnecting it again. Jury is still out as to whether I will keep it or not. I'll give it a few days then decide. Not looking good at this time.
