One family member has developed a severe dairy allergy and trying to adapt recipes to meet these dietary restrictions has been a challenge. Some “plant milks” are too sweet and make certain recipes taste weird. Others are high in soy, which can be problematic if you’re avoiding it for health (cancer) reasons. Others taste chalky and again adversely change the taste of recipes. Flax milk has none of these characteristics and works perfectly in baked goods, soups and sauces with no change to flavor. It’s shelf stable (before opening) and is thus handy to have on hand so you never run out of milk in the middle of cooking. It’s a great dairy alternative.
