Had a bad sty & regular heated compresses always lost heat too quickly. Honestly, the included gel pack did not stay warm much longer. However.. the gel insert is removable & replacing it with a battery or USB-charged hand warmer worked like a charm. I moisten the pad, them place the hand warmer on low inside the pouch. Heat & moisture is retained a whole lot longer & is more effective at treating stys. Freezing the gel insert can cause it to burst, so a long stretch of refrigeration is best for reducing swollen eyes. I took one star off due to the short heat duration & potential bursting factor of the gel pack.

Great aide for eye infection. I recently had a stye on my left upper eyelid, and this came in super handy. Zapper it for 20sec in the microwave, and it is a nice warm (but not too warm) temp to apply as a warm compress. The "beads" retain heat nicely, and the fabric of the patch is comfortable. A nice value for the money too. For eye-related medical condition, or just weary eyes this is a nice aide to have around.

Good performance, but great retention is not very long.

It's very helpful when you have a stye! I love that you can remove the cover and wash it between uses.

It does its job well. Heat retention is good- doctors say only use it for 10 mins max at a time and it will hold enough heat to last that long before having to reheat and reapply.

It’s comfortable but doesn’t stay warm more than a few minutes. By few I mean like 3 or 4. Heat seem moist.

I've got nothing to compare with but it does what it's meant for and although it's taking a long time to go, I can see a reduction in my stye. It's also very comfortable to wear.

I had the worst stye in my life recently and after using the double on of these every hour for ~10 minutes throughout one day I saw it off. Obviously the eyelid needs to heal but the actual sore part and the majority of inflammation was killed off in one day. Using a flannel with hot water is useless, you can get about 3 minutes of decent heat at most and you get wet etc. With this I could go about my normal business and let it do its thing. I wore it side-saddle so it only covered the affected eye and loved it so much I have now bought this single one to make this even easier.

BEWARE OF PUTTING THIS IN MICROWAVE ON ITS OWN great idea ,easy and works well. BUT used alone it could wreck your microwave as not enough volume to absorb the microwaves on its own. Suggest always use with cup of water!

Useless, barely stays warm. I ended up buying a cordless heated eye mask which stayed warm for longer and doesn’t need constantly heating up.

I have this eye mask for a months now. It was fairly cheap in price, it has a soft velour feel to the eye patch part and elasticated strap to go around the head which makes it fit snugly. Although microwaveable, I found that one of the plastic pieces that hold the strap melted a little, although it’s still useable. The quality of the mask is fine, and probably similar to others on the market It’s ok, but I found that it cools off very quickly, then needs reheating. I just found this annoying, and found a hot wet flannel and a bowl of hot water far more effective personally!
