Exactly What I Was Looking For!
Setup was straightforward—I downloaded the Bark app, connected the watch via Bluetooth/WiFi, and within minutes, it was ready to use. The app is user-friendly, allowing me to customize settings and monitor my child's activity seamlessly. My child wears it all day, and we only need to charge it every 1-2 days. That’s a win in my book! I love that my child can make and receive calls, but only from approved contacts. This ensures no random calls or spam. The voice quality is clear, and the speaker is loud enough for kids to hear. The real-time location tracking is very accurate! As a mom, I feel more at ease knowing where my child is at all times. You can even set up geofencing to get alerts if your child leaves a designated area (like school or a friend’s house). This is a game-changer! With one press, my child can instantly alert me in case of an emergency. Thankfully, we haven’t had to use it yet, but it gives me peace of mind. This watch was designed with safety in mind. Unlike some smartwatches that allow internet access and social media, Bark Watch is focused on safe communication. Through the Bark app, I can control who my child can contact and monitor messages if needed. My son loves the reminders and alarms. There's also do not disturb mode which can be set by the parent and it's also durable and water-resistant! i love that there's no internet or games, because I prefer a device free of distractions. This is definitely top notch! I'd say go for it!

Perfect for 8+
Perfect watch for a young kid that's not ready for a cell phone yet! The watch was easy to set up and connected right away to start making calls and texts. It doesn't have games or any distractions like a lot of other watches do. The bottom side button calls emergency contacts, so we've been trying to navigate that because it's very easy to accidentally call people. The screen also scratches very easily so I'd recommend a screen protector before using. I wouldn't give to a kid any younger than 8 just given how easy it is to accidentally dial 911 and the scratching. Overall we are very happy with the features, including the bark monitoring!

A must have before jumping to a phone.
I was stuck between the bark watch? Gabb watch, and cosmo watch. I ended up going with the bark and am SO pleased with it. I get alerts for ANY messages that might be a red flag and the alerts are detailed with screen shots of the messages. It also tracks location and you can easily see where your child it. It’s a watch so the audio isn’t the best, but connecting Bluetooth ear buds is super simple. The battery life hasn’t really been an issue. We charge it every night and it lasts all day. It even tells you the speed of the vehicle your child travels in. The safety features of this watch are unmatched imo. Bark app is really great at keeping children safe, and this watch is no exception. Paying the cellular for the watch gives you access to all bark features for other devices. It’s a deal that can’t be beat

Would not work where we lived
Even after checking our area to make sure we had coverage, the watch would not work where we lived. My husband spoke to customer service multiple times and we still didn't get it resolved. I returned the watch. It's too bad because this would have been perfect for our son if it would have only just worked!

No kid's watch has it all... but this one is getting close!
We have a wild child who is always on the go and having a watch to be able to find him and contact him is essential. We have tried so many watches and Bark is easily one of the best so far. It's the first that we've decided to get our other child as well. Here's why:PROS:-Accurate GPS tracking-Ability to set Geo fences/locations like Home, School, Nana's house, etc.-Nearly real time updates about when our child leaves or arrives at one of those boundaries-A real phone number!-Can add as many contacts as we'd like-One Bark watch is able to call the other Bark watch-Reliable call quality! We can always here our boys clearly when we call them-Anyone can call or text them if they have been added as a contact. There is no need for all people to download a special app or something to communicate with them.CONS/FEATURES WE WISH IT HAD:-It is not fully waterproof. Our boys swim at the neighborhood pool or ride to the splash pad all summer long. I wish it wasn't just water resistant but waterproof so they could swim with it and I could still see where they are and contact them. (Garmin Bounce watch wins this category.)-There is no button in the app or ability to force update or reload the child's location. There have been a couple times the location hasn't updated in a bit and I'd like to force it to reload but there is no option for that... we just have to wait. (Something we've had on Garmin and Cosmo watches)-The ability to customize the school schedule by day. Our kids have an early release day once a week. I would like to be able to customize the school days individually so they can have full access to their watch again without me needing to manually pause or end the school schedule. (Cosmo wins this category.)-Voice to text functionality. They can send voice memos or text letter by letter. The screen is so small that this is hard for them to do. A voice to text option would be ideal.-Read receipts! I wish my texts would reflect when they've opened and read a text. (Garmin was great at this and it changed from sent, to delivered, to read.)-Don't love the chargers. The magpin chargers are easy to slip off. From the second we got the charger out of the box it has said "slow charging. Make sure there is no dust and sweat on the charging ports." There isn't. The watches are clean as a whistle, but charging hasn't been fast and they can slip off easily. The fit has been great. My boys haven't minded the little bit larger size of the watch compared to some of the others they've tried. The step counter is great. It would be awesome to have a few more things it looked at like some of the other watches, but it's fine. (Garmin Bounce tracks their 'active minutes' and gives us notifications when they've reached 60 minutes a day etc.)Overall we are very happy with this watch. There does not seem to be one kid watch that truly has it all yet, but this one has been great and is the happiest we've been with a watch thus far. I'll continue to update this review as time goes on and we use the watches longer.
