This game is great fun for 4-15 year olds.
LEGO video games are very entertaining. We have several. They have great graphics, are easy to learn and fun to play so they are perfect for young children. Our 4 year old plays this game by himself, absolutely no help is needed. Our 12 year old also plays this game and loves it. For the older kids, there is an optional "character design" mode which allows players to design there own super villain and so this adds an element which is of interest and more fun for older children. The "character design" mode is an optional part of the game so the younger child does not have to do this in order to "just play the game," again our 4 year old plays this game by himself. All of the characters are LEGO characters and, as the game progresses, they do hit each other, they punch and kick. There is no blood when a LEGO character hits another character. The LEGO characters just fall apart into individual LEGO pieces. The game is rated appropriately and it is great fun for kids. I am glad I bought it.

Amazing game
Bought this for my son when he was 7 he's 13 now and he says this game was something he loved as a child and was just hooked would recommend to older kids like 10+ unless they really want it but something nostalgic your kid will have in their childhood

Some bugs in the game, but overall it's ok like most Lego games
STORYLINEThe heroes are taken away from the planet by some really bad villains who plan to destroy everything and the planet earth villains (Joker, Lex Luther, ect.) become heroes to save the heroes to stop the out of the world bad guys. The cut scenes all have goofy gags but that is what Lego does in all their games.GAMEPLAYIt is the usual Lego collect everything you can by destroying things to get money, doing missions, and completing the story line levels. The majority of the game is completing the side missions, races, and collecting characters. There are 20 story line levels and seems like a 100 characters (most I've never heard of and kind of dumb characters that don't have cool powers)CONTROLSThe controls for character movement sometimes get difficult. There are special abilities based on whether you hold or press certain buttons and sometimes it takes a little effort to get to the ability you want. The flying characters aren't easy to control while flying either. But the easy stuff like running and smashing and building stuff works fine no matter who you choose.OVERALL IMPRESSIONThe game is alright. Its pretty fun being both heroes and villains. It took about 3 weeks of here and there playing to beat the game and collect everything. The majority of the time is spent on side missions. The game did have a few bugs that I had to restart the game for (a character getting stuck, a cut scene wouldn't finish and the game froze) It is entertaining enough though. It's a fairly easy game for most all ages though. For an older video game player like myself, there were some hard parts that I had to look up online to figure out but 95% of it is pretty straightforward and super simple. I have played a lot of the Lego games and this one has some interesting elements but still not the best. I don't feel like I want to play this game anymore after beating it. The best might be the Harry Potter Lego series, which do make me want to play after beating them. If you want to buy and play with a kid, this is a decent game for that purpose because you can both play at the same time with a split screen. But overall, this is an ok game, if you just don't mind wasting some time playing.

Difficult game, but definitely worth it
More difficult than previous LEGO offerings. Harder puzzles that sometimes require a walkthrough to figure out. HOWEVER, the overall gameplay is outstanding and the customization feature alone is worth the price. I was bummed when I first started the game only to find that I could only assign a few skills to my custom-created villain. But then, in the middle of the first mission, I ran across a device that added a superpower to my character. Game on! I love the inclusion of some RPG elements in this game. My character now has about a dozen skills/powers that I can swap out as I please.Oh! And the kids love this game too! Good family fun! (Yes...I'm the gamer dad.)

Good choice
Purchased for my almost 6 year old son. He’s happy with it. It’s more difficult than he imagined from watching YouTube videos about it. So it’s nice and challenging for him. My husband has to help him figure things out, but he’s also new to playing video games in general. So that’s to be expected. It’s not his favorite of the 3 I got him, but he does enjoy playing it for periods of time.
