Chest Clip Guard for Car Seat

We purchased this product when my oldest child decided to pull her car seat's chest clip down out of position. We tried, on multiple occasions, to explain to her the necessity of keeping it in place, but she complained that it was uncomfortable. As we were preparing for a long road trip and she wouldn't keep it in place for even a short 10min drive, I did some research and found this product.The gist:This replaces the car seat's original chest clip. There is a strap that you set to the necessary length that runs from one side of the chest clip, up behind the child's neck, and then down to the other side of the chest clip. Car seat straps are otherwise used as normal.It may void the car seat warranty - you'd have to look into your car seat's manual regarding that. But for us, that was a small concern in light of the potential safety issues of an incorrectly placed chest clip.All in all, we are very pleased. My child has not complained of any discomfort regarding the new chest clip. It is only slightly more complicated to get her buckled into her seat (gotta make sure the strap is in the right place, she can't really do it herself yet so we help her). It stays exactly where it needs to be, she can't pull it down out of place. And now I'm not stressed out whenever we are on the road, wondering whether she's safe or not.

This is indeed a lifesaver for our 2 year old. He learned how to unbuckle his seatbelt while we were a couple of hours in on a 10+ hour drive back to our house from out of state. After numerous stops to re-fasten his seatbelt and an emptied box of baby oatmeal all over the car floor, we finally arrived at home ready to commit hari kari. In desperation I browsed online and researched all the possibilities. This one seemed to be the best option. I felt it was a bit pricey when I purchased it, but realized the value in it after I received it. It is well made and solid, just as if it came from the car seat manufacturer. We have been using this clip guard for several weeks now and here are the results. The first day we buckled him in, our 2 year old didn't like it at all. This is the one seatbelt our little Houdini couldn't escape. But within a few days, he became ok with it. We started letting him use the key to lock his seatbelt once we buckle him in, and now he gets excited when it's time to get in the car. I can also use a regular key to lock/unlock the clip. For his safety and our sanity, this product is worth its weight in gold!

We got 2 of these and they work great with one of our carseats but not the other. If you don't have a carseat where the shoulder straps can be undone to slide them on these don't work. For my carseat that is compatible it has been a complete game changer. I no longer look back and suddenly have a toddler running around the backseat. You do have to make sure to check that the lock locked fully because it's a little sensative but thats easy

This product has frankly been a lifesaver. My kid kept escaping everything else we tried but this product, when properly locked, cannot be opened no matter how hard you pull. It's easy enough to unlock, but as long as my kid is kept away from any keys, he's not going to be able to get out. It's very much worth the money, I highly recommend people to get it and I will be getting the buckle guard ahead of him figuring out how to open the buckle!

This is amazing!!! My kid kept taking of their seat belt even while driving down the road. This stopped it immediately!! I have recommended this to many other people.

This has been the ONLY car seat that my escape artist 3 yr old hasn’t been able to get out of while I’m driving down the road. We tried every other car seat clip on Amazon and he would break them all. This one is durable and works wonders!

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this clip at the beginning of April because my 2yo daughter kept messing with her car seat’s original clip. Initially I thought this clip was great because it stopped her from being able to lower the clip and stick her arms out. However, last week while driving, my son yelled out to me that my daughter was unbuckled! I buckled her in so it made no sense, but when I pulled over to get her back in, I realized that the clip was able to unclip with little effort. I am now going back to the car seat’s clip and hoping that it has been long enough that she won’t be messing with it. My other daughter died after being in a car crash less than two years ago and I hope this product is removed because it would not protect a child in that kind of situation and I would hate for any parent to have to go through the pain I do.
