I needed to hook up two monitors via hdmi to my laptop however the laptop only had one hdmi slot. This portable docking station has more than enough to meet my office harwadware needs. I would definitely recommend it.

Tried to use this for a laptop and monitor. That was a bad move. First it doesn't have enough power to do both. The laptop was squawking about it. And second, it overheated to the point I thought I might catch on fire. Not sure what use it's meant for, but it certainly isn't for a laptop and monitor.

I was skeptical given the price, but as it turns out this is suitable. I bought a USB-C version and it works great fully loaded, all 7 ports. I've been using mine in an always-on state for over a month now with no problems. It works fine but note that the USB-C cable is short, so that might make a difference to you. Other than that the product is as described.
