The StatQuest Illustrated Guide to Neural Networks and AI: With hands-on examples in PyTorch!!!

Learning how neural networks work is hard, and takes time. You really need to understand the nuts and bolts if you want to build and tune useful models. This book does an excellent job of explaining in great detail each nut and bolt you need to know about. The book is supported by very easy to understand and well documented Python code. I have found it really easy to follow both the book and the online Python examples. The graphical nature of the book, with welcome distractions from Norm and Squatch enables complete immersion in the subject matter. Highly recommend this book if you want to understand the nuts and bolts of neural networks explained very carefully and simply. My only regret is that i did not splash out on the hardcover version :-(

What an amazing book! I am a seasoned NLP data scientist but I love the way the book explains complicated concepts. Well done! Please make other books specialised to NLP, etc.

Best book on Neural Networks I've ever found. Everything is explained with many pictures, easy reminders about what's important ("BAM!"), 120% crystal clear. Note : It does not speak about all aspects of ML/AI, just concentrates on Neural Networks.

Ich habe schon die deutsche Version zum Thema ML. Und auch hier gilt: gute Erklärungen und Darstellungen, saloppe Sprache - das Englisch ist gutes Tech-Englisch und damit verstehbar - und man hat nachher einen schönen Einblick im Sinne des Wortes.

Ho letto decine di libri sul Machine Learning e sull'AI che promettevano di spiegare in modo semplice e chiaro concetti complessi e nessuno di questi prima aveva mai mantenuto la promessa fatta. Questo libro dimostra che si può fare, con l'aggiunta di anche tante risate, disegni e canzoncine simpatiche. Come un grande atleta di altissimo livello riesce a far sembrare naturali e semplici imprese impossibili per l'uomo comune, il mitico Josh Starmer con la sua conoscenza profonda di questi temi ed un metodo educativo straordinario ha reso veramente comprensibili anche ad un bambino concetti abbastanza astrusi come le reti neurali convoluzionali, LSTM, transformer, etc. Trovo incredibile il modo in cui scompone passo passo le architetture delle varie reti neurali, dimostrandole con esempi numerici semplificati. Questa è la sua chiave di volta per spiegarcele fin nel profondo. Nonostante abbia studiato già queste architetture, penso che il ripasso fatto leggendo questo libro mi abbia consentito di solidificare ulteriormente le fondamenta delle mie conoscenze sul tema. Penserete, ma come un libro con i disegnini riesce a fare questo? Leggetelo e vi ravvedrete. Che dire, Triple Bam per Josh!
