Amazing product! Really love it!
LOVE this shampoo bar! I have been looking for something like this for so long. I have been using this now for a few weeks and every time I love how well it does to clean my hair and leave it shiney and soft. It lathers better than some bottled shampoos I have been using. I'm pairing it with the conditioner and when my hair dries it is so soft and it is enhancing my natural wavy hair. The only thing I wish was better about this is the scent is not strong/barely noticeable. But I'm a customer for life. I love this and think this will last me a very, very long time.

This Stuff Rocks
Not that this doesn't have enough positive reviews already, but it's really pretty spectacular. 10/10 would recommend and will be repurchasing. Reasons why this is the best stuff ever: IT WORKS. Which....enough said right? I've got thin, frizzy/wavy hair. It's bleach damaged and dyed over on the bottom, but oily on the top. I usually wash every other or every third day. The stuff I was using before was something my hairdresser scared me into purchasing after she did what she could for my ends. It set me back 70$ for shampoo and conditioner, which was obscene, and I still needed multiple after-shower products to get my hair to act right. Before trying these bars I felt like those were just going to be the consequences of having damaged my ends so badly, but I decided I really wanted to try a different product because, yikes. I've used the San Clemente shampoo and the Guardian conditioner for the last 3-4 months. I'm not going to say I have a whole new head of hair or it's magically thicker or anything like that, but it does look shiny and healthy. It dries wavy/curly like it's supposed to and not in the tortured part straight/part frizz/part curly beast nonsense it was doing with the other products. I don't have to put two after-shower oils into it to be able to brush it. Bottom line, this stuff works well at a price I'm willing to pay. But it's got a bunch of other cool stuff going for it too: Additional Reasons Ethique is the Greatest: - It lasts FOREVER. For real. I'm well past the 3 month mark and maybe about halfway through? I thought the three bottle thing was a massive exaggeration, especially after seeing the size of these bars, but it's really holding true for me. I sit it on the ledge in front of the window in my bathroom in a little silicone soap tray I got from WalMart for like 3 bucks that lets the bottom dry out, and that’s enough to keep it from melting. - It's natural and biodegradable- you can collect your grey water and use it in the garden. You can go camping and not feel guilty about washing your hair (not in a water source, folks). Packaging is 100 percent compostable. It's palm oil free and they try to get their ingredients from companies who treat their employees reasonably and use resources sustainably. They’re great. -Literally, the only green issue I've got is that there's obviously a significant carbon footprint associated with shipping it to me, but if I only have to order it twice a year (or once, if I stockpile?) I feel like it probably evens out? I'm not losing much sleep over it. - Super transportable. I can throw this in my duffle bag for the weekend. I can take this on a carry-on no problem. It takes up almost no space and represents months worth of cleanliness. Which is freaking fantastic, because I'm a college student and we're kind of migratory by nature. - SLS Free! Silicone Free! PH Balanced! My hair is frizzy. It's chemically damaged on the ends. It's thin. And the dye on my ends is hiding a lot of sins. I cannot afford to be messing around with these other bar shampoos made out of soap that are all really alkaline. Dito for the whole baking soda method. Or the ones from LUSH masquerading as good things that are secretly out to destroy you and strip all color from your hair. Or the drugstore shampoos that promise silkiness only because they’re piling the plastics on. It’s a good shampoo full of good stuff that smells nice and is nice to your hair. Go for it. It won’t work miracles, but It does the job it’s supposed to do really well.

Great Shampoo Bar for a Deep Clean!
Love this Shampoo Bar! It’s perfect for my oily scalp, and it gives my hair a truly deep clean without stripping it dry. The combination of lime and orange essential oils gives it a fresh, invigorating scent that lasts without being overpowering. It lathers like a dream—so much better than I expected from a bar, and I only need to swipe it a few times across my wet hair to get a nice, rich foam. The ingredients are amazing too! The castor oil works wonders at dissolving oils and sebum, while the glycerine keeps my hair soft and hydrated without feeling greasy. My hair feels lighter, cleaner, and has way more volume after use. I’m also loving how eco-friendly it is. The bar lasts a long time (at least 80 washes, which is like three bottles of liquid shampoo!), and the packaging is completely compostable. It feels good knowing I’m saving money and helping reduce plastic waste. Plus, it’s vegan, cruelty-free, and palm oil-free—there’s a lot of thought and care put into making this product. It’s definitely earned a permanent spot in my hair care routine! Highly recommend!

AMAZING! Leaves hair soft, shiny without weighing it down
I was very skeptical of using shampoo and conditioner in the form of a bar. However, I had heard a lot of good things about the quality of Ethique and decided to give it a go since I've been on a journey to find shampoo and conditioner that works for me. Needless to say, I am beyond happy that I purchased these products!! They smell sooo good (almost like Sweet Tarts even though the packaging says it's suppose to be sparkling pear) and the shampoo lathers very well with only about 4 swipes of the bar on my wet hair. The conditioner also has a surprising amount of slip, though it takes a moment for it to start working (I combat this by applying it as evenly as possible and then clipping my hair up with a claw clip as I finish the rest of my shower and rinse only before getting out). It's worth noting that I have very fine, dry hair with varied textures between straight and wavy. I also have a very sensitive scalp. Given that, I find that this product truly does hydrate my hair and leave it soft and shiny without weighing it down and it also hasn't made my scalp itch at all. I am completely sold. My hair has never felt or looked better. I highly recommend this purchase and I myself will now be a loyal costumer so long as this line doesn't get discontinued! (P.S. if you like to avoid coconut oil like I do, this specific shampoo and conditioner combo does not contain it).

Long lasting. Love this bar
Ive had this bar for months now. And its maybe gone down a tiny bit in size since I bought it. Its great for travel and it really helps with my hair. I do have to say tho it has a strong scent but for how well it work fro my hair I dont mind it as much. My hair gets very soft and feels moisturized after using. I feel as tho the price can be a lot at first but for how long it lasts it really pays off (lots of value for your money). The ingredients do not break me out as some other hair products do. The bar can weird at first but you get used to it. I have thick hair and it really gets all of it clean. The thickness of the bar is not too thick as one would think but its still foldable.

Shocked
Repairing shampoo: One use & hairdresser commented on how much better my hair was. Once my hair dries it feels clean light & healthy. St Clemens Clarifying shampoo: this one is terrible. Scent is ok but leaves my hair feeling like straw & it got oily faster than other bar. Won't continue to use.

Good stuff! Update: REALLY good stuff
I just got this and used it once. It definitely affected my hair differently than what I've been using lately. It still feels totally clean after 4 days! I've been using bar soap (Vunella) for a couple of years until I decided to use up the bottle of tea tree that I had on hand. The Vunella has been fine, also, but I decided to try this hydrating shampoo for dry hair. I used it without any conditioner or any sprays because I wanted to know exactly what IT was going to do. My hair was a little more 'manageable' and not flyaway, and it looked better than usual. I'm not sure what the hyaluronic should feel like, it's not oily or anything like that, but it does feel nicer. And my 4-day dirty hair hasn't looked this good in a long time. It's a good size bar, so should last a while. The pictures represent a couple of times using up the tea tree, and one time using the Ethique. I threw out what was left of the tea tree shampoo. And I gotta say, it's SO important for us to use less plastic! Recycling can't begin to manage all the plastic we use - much of it still ends up in landfills. So this shampoo bar is a huge winner for me.

I wish I would have found ethique before becoming eco conscious
The Good: 1. This shampoo bar is game changing. After just one wash my hair feels like I cut 4-5 inches off and got a keratin treatment. I can’t rave about it enough! I never used to wear my hair down and for the first time I do and am confident wearing it hair down also lol. This is the healthiest, shiniest, softest and the lightest my hair has ever been! My curl pattern is even restoring! Love love love love love! 2. The bar lathers up really fast and easily. It requires minimal product to wash my whole head and my hair is armpit length. 3. I’ve paired this bar with the guardian conditioner and I’ve tried the bar with zero conditioner. Both ways have still given me amazing hair lol! 4. My partner who was convinced I was wasting money on expensive hippie bar soap with a shampoo label also loves this shampoo/company. He loves how he barley had to use it on his head and it lathers up a ton! We’ve been using the bar for one month and his dandruff has gone away. 5. They really are eco! Ethique customer service is very friendly and they will answer all and any of your eco questions. They do a great job of making a product that is not only great for the customer but doesn’t have a negative backlash on the environment! They’re also zero waste! 6. They formulate their shampoo/conditioner bars without soap. They do this because your hair needs a different pH then your body. The company itself uses soap but soap is not used in the shampoo and conditioner bars for good reason and it truly shows! This is all around a quality product. 8. My hair on day 3-4 did get an oily awkward transitional phase but that only lasted about 4 days. 7. I’ve been telling everyone about this companies shampoo/conditioner. Everyone who’s bought this bar after I recommended it has told me that they think it’s game changing also! The Bad: 1. Initially I kept skimming past these products because they aren’t organic. I came back to look at this company more in depth after I had asked for recommendations in several zero waste groups im in on Facebook and at least 50% of people recommended ethique. I contacted ethique directly and It turns out most of their ingredients are organic. They put sustainability before organic though and the ingredients that aren’t organic are second best. That being said this is still an issue for a lot of people. I really think they should advertise which ingredients are actually organic and which aren’t and why. 2. Most of the negative reviews that I read were about the bars not lasting. $16 just for the shampoo was not going to be a feasible monthly buy for me. I have a corner shelf in my shower that is away from direct water but does not protect the bars from moisture. We’ve been using our bars for a month. (two adults using it every other day to every three days) there’s still plenty of product! I could see how this would be frustrating for someone who doesn’t have a corner shelf, doesn’t want to buy the bar storage containers or anyone that just can’t deal with moving the bar in and out of the shower with every use. 3. For whatever reason my hair takes almost twice as long to dry sense I’ve switched to ethique. It may be my hair type but I can see how this could be problematic for others. Especially people with very curly hair. If you are concerned about this I recommend getting their sample pack. $16 for samples that you don’t know if you’ll like or not is a bit much in my opinion. I have seen a lot of amazing reviews from very curly haired people for the sweet and spicy ethique bar. The salt is supposed to be helpful. Since my curl pattern is restoring I do plan on trying that bar next myself. 4. If I wanted to really complain on here it would be that I’ve legit worried that if ethique ever goes out of business I’ll never be able to be this happy with my hair/shampoo ever again 😂😂😂😂 I seriously 100% love these bars and recommend them. That being said based on the other reviews I’ve read as well as my own personal experience with this ethique shampoo bar, I can see how some things that I stated above could end up problematic for other people. Realistically though, I think these complaints are very convinced based and for me they aren’t a deal breaker. Pic is my bar after one months use between two adults!
