This is a Vine review on a product that I received in exchange for my honest evaluation of the product. My wife likes these knives more than I do. She donated my high-quality knives to a thrift store so that we could keep these knives instead. These knives are good quality and cut most things well, they do have a bit of a tough time with avocado skins. They are much lighter than my original set and that may be why I am not as comfortable with them as I have used the other knives for 20 years. I would call these starter knives, a decent quality blade at a reasonable price that will perform well for most people's daily needs. You could give these as a wedding gift or a college dorm warming party and they should be apprriciated. As the recipient ages and their cutting skills improve and their expecations for their cutting instruments increase, they will probably want a higher quality blade. I would recommend these knives to people who do not own a good set of knives. I would not recommend replacing a high-quality set of German cutlery with them.

This Zhang Xiao knife set is a great first knife set at a great price. We used them over the holidays and they were pretty sharp out of the box. They look and feel great and the knife block with sharpener keeps it all handy. It looks real nice on our countertop. We like how each knife is labeled for what it is too. The only thing I'd gripe about is the plastic handles. Each one had poor finish marks near the blade. Leaving loose plastic bits in the packaging. Also when we did sharpen a knife we noticed the black finish was damaged. So these may not keep that cool black look with many sharpenings. Still a good set for the price.

the handles are plastic has the feel of abs/PETG, gripping is descent, blades are super sharp to start, comes with a nice butcher block to store your knife set.. the butcher block has a built in knife sharpener, I have not had to use it yet as the blades seem to be holding an edge pretty good.. The Scissors are very sharp and great for a wide variety of culinary food prep.. overall its not a High end set, but works great and looks nice for the price.. Highly recommend...!!!
