Parent Training for Disruptive Behavior: The RUBI Autism Network, Clinician Manual (Programs That Work)

I honestly didn’t know if I would like this curriculum because I tend to steer clear of planned ignoring and relying on ABC data, however, it came in incredibly handy! I used a combination of this curriculum and a chapter from The Power of Positive Parenting, and had one of the best conversations I’ve ever had with a parent! Definitely will be using this for future cases.

Good perchase! Really give me ideas and organization for parent training. Looking to purchase the workbook next.

One of my favorite tools for parent training

There was obviously a ton of work put into this parent training and it goes over what Applied Behavior Analysis is for parents in an easy-to-learn fashion. I am not sure if the people giving one star ratings are lazy or just uninformed but the videos are online. Do you really need them in an outdated CD modality?This has the parents of our clients praising with gratitude daily. There's a script that we mostly stick with, and sometimes the lecture portion gets a little bit longer than needed to get the point across so we act like good clinicians and teach parents from our education. If you're a BCBA, you have enough background to teach this training from the script and not sound robotic after doing it about 2 times. You won't regret giving this to your families affected by behavioral challenges (particularly those associated with autism but you can avoid saying "autism" to families who don't have that diagnosis just fine).

I purchased this book for the purpose of using it in telehealth, so imagine my surprise when I wanted to review the lesson the day before a session and there was no access to the videos on their website without purchasing a subscription because the book does not come with access key or anything else for you to use it. If you want to use the online resources, but directly from the company.

I give 4 to 5 stars for the manual. Videos (separate purchase) are good but only include a white middle to upper class family. The lack of diversity is disappointing. This drops it down to 3 stars.
