Lightspeed Outdoors Bahia Quick Pop Up Beach Sun Shade

We purchased this for the beach because my husband and I get to roast in the sun, while the kids dig in the sand. We needed shade, but didn't want anything bulky, heavy, or difficult to set up. This was amazingly simple. Tug on 2 straps (outward, not straight up) and it snaps up and locks. It comes with pegs to strap into sand. Push down (labeled) on the poles and it collapsed. My husband and I fit comfortably with low lounge chairs. Highly recommended.

I read a lot of reviews good and bad so I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, but what I can tell you is that it is light, lighter then my standard beach chair with attached umbrella.I like that is comes with a carrying case with the instructions attached, but those are the things I also don't like about it, the carrying case is flimsy and seems cheap and going to use another one I have that is more durable. I also like the instructions but it gets in the way and is so large, but a nice to have, I read the instructions for opening and closing, trust me, read them it will save you lots of time.I timed myself twice putting it up after reading the instructions and it took less then 35 seconds to take out of case and pop it up, simplest setup ever! Granted did not put stakes in or fill the bags with sand.I timed myself twice again for taking down and putting back in the case and it took less then 1 min 40 seconds!I haven't taken to the beach yet which that is what I bought it for, so I am sure my times for setup and tear down will be longer.I did open up the windows and tied them up cause I don't want to use while they are closed and wanted to see if it interfered with putting away and for wind sake - while at the beach having the windows unzipped and opening caused issues, the poles got stuck in the window and was a big mess trying to open. I highly recommend you close the windows before closing.The material does seem to feel cheap or thin, but usage and time will tell if it holds up.Another reason why I bought this was so that I can have shade quickly and easily without having to carry and put up a standard beach umbrella or a chair umbrella attachment that you have to constantly adjust.I took to the beach, didn't put the ancors down or fill the bags with sand, had the windows open and put my bag in to hold down too - this worked fine, but if its windy should put the stakes down.I assume it's a good buy for ease of use and portability. I hope this help anyone looking for the same reasons as me!

Like my headline says, this is a great little beach tent that is extremely easy and quick to pop open. I first saw this on Wirecutter and like it very much. However, the very first time I took it out of the box and set it up in my living room one of the fiberglass poles splintered - not fatally, but the outermost layer splintered, weakening the pole. I duct-taped it back together to stabilize it but the thickness and friction of the duct tape made the clips unable to travel up and down the pole easily (the clips pull the nylon tent part "up" the poles when you open it and down when you close it. I would recommend using smooth clear packing tape if this happens to you and only wrap it around once or maybe twice. Ideally the poles wouldn't splinter at all, but aside from that glitch it is a great, lightweight sun shelter to stow in your trunk for beach getaways. BTW, the roof is too low to use a regular height "camp chair" inside so you'll need to have one of those low-profile beach chairs if you want to sit in it and read. Overall great product, just don't force it when you're opening or closing.

This is an excellent little shade tent! It's so super easy to put up and down, just spread apart your arms with the cords and bam! There you go! With the stakes and ties it makes it really secure, even if it's windy. We purchased it while on a road trip and we used it at our parents property, many parks, and even in the hotel room once as a toy room! It fit in our roof top rack bag and is light weight. The storage bag is really nice to keep it all contained. It's nice quality, I didn't find any defects in it at all and I made sure to look it over for messed up seams, etc because it happens.

Very spacious. Easy set up and take down. Perfect for the beach. Sand bags worked great at holding it in place!

I've been using a Lightspeed Sun Shelter for years now for both camping & beach time. The old one is getting a little worn down so thought it best to order a backup to have on hand. I also want to spray it a few times with scotch guard and use some seam sealer on it before taking it out. I have been known to use my shelter during rainy weather with a plastic drop cloth draped over (and under it). That said, change to a structure that was (to me) perfect will take some time.I am not a huge fan of the new double draw open (the one I have been using opened with a single rope - like drawing a bow string back) but it should be okay. I did notice that the two front "legs" of this shelter needed to be manually untwisted each time I have tried to open it. The old one did not start doing this until it had been used many, many times. This worries me, especially if I attempt to open it on a windy day. Will the legs hyper-extend and break? I am also not keen on the new double push down closure method as it is abrupt and throws your body off balance when the structure "unlocks."

Excellent. Easy to assemble. Easy to put away. Easy to keep clean. Plenty of room inside. Does what it says on the tin !!!

LOVE this quick pop up tent. Easy to use pops up in seconds and I love the color! Purchased this for my baby so I can enjoy some of the sun while he is in the shade and protected from the sun. This will get lots of use for many years to come. Highly recommend!!!
