No, they do not. I have long thick hair and they did not work at all.

I had this same concern and emailed their customer support via their website as I didn't want my wife to get a knockoff product. Yes it is! My wife loves this product and when I found it on Amazon and ordered it for her, I was at first skeptical. I have thick long and very heavy hair. Regular bands do not hold high pony tail and if they do, it hurts my scalp. would pony-o work for me?

No, it won’t. Ay least it didn’t work for me. Not for long at least. Since it’s heavy the weight starts pulling it down slowly, so it doesn’t stay in place. For people with abundant hair it’s really hard to put it on. The only part that’s true it’s the part that says it won’t pull or damage your hair.
