Actual trash
I couldn't find as much info online as I hoped and took a chance on this thermometer. Shame on me. This was barely packed in bits of leftover cardboard. Still, the cardboard investment was too high for the product. It's so flimsy and ineffective, I wouldn't rest my other trash on it before it all goes into a bin.

My First Pet Thermometer
I've always used other people's thermometers for my horse. It's been a rare occasion when I need it. I finally bought my own. This one is very simple to use and appears to be accurate. As other reviewers mentioned, the temperature is instant, but it's quick enough.

Bad for cats. Maybe okay for larger animals?
Unfortunately it just doesn't cut it for cats. The temperature was reading far too low despite being shoved as deep into kitty's ear as was safe. My relatively docile girl got a reading CLOSER to accurate but was very uncomfortable by the 40 seconds or so it took. My smaller girl was wiggly so there was no way to hold the thermometer in safely single handed and her temperature read 3 degrees lower than when I did an anal reading with a different one.Ironically it's more comfortable for the kitties to use the anal thermometer.This may still be okay for larger breed animalistic which is why I gave it 3 stars. But do not get for cats.
