I. LOVE. THIS. VACUUM.
I. LOVE. THIS. VACUUM. I had my eye on this vacuum for several years before finally splurging and buying it for myself. I loved it from the first time I used it and it’s going strong over the last 3 months of weekly use. I have environmental sensitivities, and this vacuum is rated very highly in terms of how well sealed it is and how it does not redisperse any particles back into the air. Pros: relatively quiet, considering how powerful it is. The casters are really smooth and it's easy to pull around. I appreciate the variety of different brush heads and the cute storage compartment. I also really like how you can store the wand upright when the vacuum is out. Cons: It’s pricey! And replacement bags and filters are also not cheap. It is worth it to me, though, knowing that it is keeping the air in my home cleaner. I also feel like the slot to store the wand upright is not very secure. I feel like that that part will break down at some point. I also wish that the cord retractor was slower. It retracts alarmingly fast! Overall, I really love this vacuum. Is it perfect? No. But it is certainly good/satisfying to use, and I feel like it was money well spent.

Lightweight but powerful vacuum
I needed a lightweight vacuum, since I have some autoimmune and painful joints and so am not very fit, but also needed a vacuum that also enough power for both floors and carpet. This Miele is just the ticket. It's a touch above 16 lbs with the hose and other equipment on, but I hardly broke a sweat while vacuuming the upstairs plus the stairs of our two-floor house. The telescoping pole of the handle was long enough so that I could vacuum from the top of the stairs and not have to go all the way down to the bottom--just one step, while holding on the stair rail, that's how light it is. I like that all the small attachments are inside the canister for easy storage and I kept the handy box for the tube and larger attachments. The Miele is of very high quality, the vacuum suction is strong, and the floor brush attachment is very maneuverable and easy to use under and around furniture, as well as behind bathroom utilities such as toilets. It is also easy to store because of its smaller footprint. Highly recommended!

high quality that lasts.
A superior vacuum. My 2nd Miele-same model, basically. The first lasted 18 years and likely could have been repaired ( on/off switch was broken?), but I treated myelf to a new unit. MUCH more powerful. quiet. Soft start motor. Expensive and worth every penny.

Poorly engineered. Multiple points of failure.
I purchased this very expensive Miele C3 Calima to replace a budget stick vacuum, the motor of which weakened slightly over the course of a year. The idea was to kiss the budget brands goodbye and invest in something that would last me over a decade. Well the Miele worked great—for 10 minutes. Now it won’t even turn on. The unit failed during the simplest of tasks: Vacuuming a marginally dusty hardwood floor. Nothing weird like flour, sawdust, or diatomaceous earth—just straight up regular house dust. This was a brand new unit with a fresh bag and filter. The LED indicator showed that no bag change was necessary. I used the highest power setting (as indicated for hardwood floors) and vacuumed for about 10 minutes. I unplugged the unit and reeled in the cord to move to another room, plugged it back in, hit the power switch, and nothing happened. I pressed the switch repeatedly. The unit remained lifeless. I suspected overheating, but after 48 hours the unit still wouldn’t turn on. Also, the vacuum wasn’t all that warm to the touch. In any case, vacuuming hardwood floors for 10 minutes should not induce thermal stress. I went online to troubleshoot since the manual is completely useless in this regard. It seems that Miele canister vacuums have two very common defects: The cord reel, and the power switch. User experiences suggest that a spring in the cord reel mechanism *inevitably* fails well before the motor does. This, or a defective power switch, will prevent the unit from powering on. Replacement of the switch or the entire cord reel assembly is required. This is what eight hundred dollars buys you: A unit with two comically basic points of failure. Either Miele under-engineered these parts, or cheaped out on materials and construction. Either way, totally unacceptable at this price point. I suggest you save your money (and time) and go with another brand that is actually engineered to last, because Miele isn’t it.

But what about carpets?
Received our Curry Yellow C3 Complete today and took it for a full-on test run. We have always owned and used upright vacuums to varying degrees of satisfaction. 80% of our vacuum needs have always been for carpeting and not much has been said about how well Miele vacuums actually preform on carpeting, but I went with my gut instinct and purchased our first canister type machine. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! It pulls debris and long embedded dust like a champ. I looked in the bag after the first use and was stunned at what our other vacuum had been leaving behind. To be fair..the old Eureka was heavy, noisy and seemed to fling dirt ahead of itself, and I had reached my limit with it. Yes, the Miele is spendy, but after just one use I don’t care because it was money well spent. The beater brush head is smaller than a conventional upright and at first I thought it would be a drawback adding extra work. But as it turns out it is lighter and far more maneuverable than an upright and is actually faster as you are not constantly going over the same area trying to pick up those elusive little bits. The smaller width of the head allows the user to clean those narrow areas that uprights just can’t squeeze into. And suction?? Well let’s just say that it has all the suction you could ever ask for and I needed to dial it down for the carpeting. Have not tried it on stairs or smooth floors yet, but already know it will preform above expectations. Just a great purchase that is light and powerful with any attachments included that we will ever need. Not sorry at all about spending $799.00 because quality always pays for itself in the end.

Just got this vacuum today and it’s awesome! I’ve went through three Dyson electric wand type vacuums and they suck compared to this and I don’t mean suck in a good way. The vacuum rolls nicely, it’s light and very portable. The attachments are awesome. The suction is superb. I think this is the best vacuum I’ve ever had and I’ve had many. Got it when it was 33% off, which is even better! I’ve only used it a couple times. It seems like it’s very sturdy and good. Hopefully it stays that way. If it breaks down, you can believe that I will be back to update my review. I would recommend this product 100%!
