Pretty cool
Fun experiment. Worked pretty well for someone who’s never grown mushrooms. No smell. But needs humidity.

Great value and taste!
The grow kit was well worth the wait. Once it arrived, the fully colonized block fruited within a few days of cutting it open. The first flush was pretty good, and after harvesting the mushrooms I left the block in the fruiting chamber for a second flush. The second flush started growing almost immediately, and it was at least at big (or bigger) than the first flush. After I harvested the mushrooms, I figured the kit was done, so I left it on my table waiting to be recycled in a compost bin. But then, SURPRISE! A THIRD flush came out! YMMV, and this is more than I expected. I may even wait to see if there's a FOURTH flush left in the kit.The only downside is if you live in a dry area, especially in the winter, I think it's best to keep the block in a fruiting chamber to keep it at a high humidity environment.

Amazing and delicious, great quality, three flushes and going
I'd grown oyster mushrooms from other brand kits before (the ones at the big box stores) but this was my first time growing Lion's Mane and trying out North Spore products. My kit arrived four days after I ordered it back in November and came with several small baby mushrooms already growing inside the bag that were mushy and browning a bit on some of their edges. The bag didn't appear to be open but the substrate was pretty cracked. I emailed North Spore's info email listed on their website asking if this was normal and their customer service team promptly replied saying I could just remove the existing fruiting bodies and it should be fine and that sometimes the substrate blocks can be broken up in transit but that should not affect the growth. They were right! I got a huge bountiful first flush followed by two more flushes as I opened up more of the bag and continued to keep the block hydrated. I'm currently seeing if I can go for a fourth flush since the mycelium still looks good.My favorite easy recipe for cooking with these is to slice the lion's mane mushrooms into about 1/4" thick slices, brown them in a dry hot pan without any oil so they dehydrate a bit, then finish with a generous pat of butter and a sprinkle of coarse ground salt and black pepper. Eat immediately. So delicious! I also like adding chunks of the smaller sized mushrooms to soups and stews, anything really.I would definitely buy more kits from North Spore. Really great experience!

1st Flush grew easily
This product was easy to use and the first flush grew pretty quickly and easily. The second flush was small, discolored and kind of dry so I pulled it out and hoped for the next one...it never grew anymore mushrooms. I did soak the block as they recommended and put up a plastic tent around it but nothing else ever came of it. The first flush was very tasty and I was really excited to try more products from them...but for the cost it just didn't produce enough to buy it again.

Grew Mold Not a Mushroom. Grow Guarantee Not Honored by North Spore.
On the Lion's mane growing kit, I followed the directions exactly, got a little white to start showing, but then it turned into black mold, and never recovered or grew more. I kept spritzing it 2 twice a day for about 6 months when I finally gave up. I reached out to North Spore because they have a grow guarantee printed on the box. They responded to my request for a replacement with they won't honor the grow guarantee because I the grow guarantee is only honored for 3 months from the date of purchase. However I didn't see this catch written on on the box anywhere. Can't recommend this brand since it didn't fruit and became moldy, and they didn't honor their guarantee when I gave it additional time to grow and do something, to no avail.
