Roof Shingles, Shingle Removal Tool, Roofing Tools, Pitch Hopper, Shingle Nail Installer, Roof Shingle Nail Puller, Nail Remover Pry Bar For Safe Roof Shingles Replacement Roofing tools and Equipment Review: It works as described. You have to align the nail with a finger as you place it, but if you do that, it strikes pretty true. The very first strike removes the paint. That's pretty much the only issue I had with mine. You'll still need a flat bar to find those hidden nails that you'll need to remove before slipping the new shingle in, as this won't do that properly. However, the claw removes the nail much better than the flat bar. So, two things this does well. It removes the nails it can access quite well. It places the nail (with your help) properly to get a couple of good strikes in. Then, you pull it out, place the solid area on top of the nail and strike it once or twice to finish it. I'd use a flat bar for everything else. One possible improvement is a design that allows you to properly align the shingle, like a tab on a roofing hammer does, but that's nit picky. Review: Well made product. Use it a lot for roof repairs.

I had to replace a run of D Style "drip edge" prior to new gutter installation over my garage door, and I couldn't have accomplished the job without this tool. The "roof snake" is well made, and it worked best when using a 2 pound "dead blow" hammer. It would have been better for my application if the nail holder portion was 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer. Nonetheless, I am happy with the purchase.
