Good buy
Choice of two styles of brick, construction required, will make a quality addition to any train set. Hattons packed it securely and it came at the beginning of the delivery window.

Not quite as expected
There is no mention in the blurb that this is a DIY item. It is not difficult to follow the instructions; but certain parts do not fit as they should and a bit if creative modelling is required. I consider this to be overpriced, considering the work involved in setting it up. However, when complete it does look good.

Flimsy model
I found this model difficult to build as its states it clips together sadly it doesn't as I have arthritis in my right hand. I asked a friend who builds plastic models he said it was not as described and was not easy to build very flimsy

Specification categorically mentioned no assembly, wrong. No mention of material it is made of, a nasty unrealistic plastic. Most disappointed with purchase through misleading description.

Surfaces are NOT embossed with stone/tile etc. effect
I had previously purchased a card church for a layout, but I looked to the Hornby range of buildings (on Amazon) on the assumption that they would be textured plastic and ordered two items, Booking Office and Waiting Room. Going from the images they looked very nice and would be just the job, with the intention to add more buildings later. I wasn’t expecting painted items, I assumed the box-art to be ‘what they could look like depending on the skill of the modeller’. I couldn’t see in the description of the items that it mentioned sticky-back plastic sheets so I have to admit to being somewhat disappointed to find that the building are smooth plastic and the lovely stone and roof tile texture was in-fact sticky-back plastic sheet, which in terms of quality, although they look nice, the card buildings are just as good and cheaper (on the Hornby website they appear to sell resin buildings, although these two were not shown). As I am a modeller by hobby, adding embossed plastic stonework won’t be too big a deal, nor will the minor assembly of parts, but for those who, like me assumed that we would receive nice textured plastic buildings stand by to be disappointed. p.s. both buildings are shown in the photo.
