This is just a fantastic product so .... five stars it is. NOW, manufacturers are you listening?????? The packaging is just the worst. You can't get the lid off without calling in the Corps of Engineers..the plastic has got to go as the earth just can't take much more of it without choking and dying. If we don't all get behind this change....we won't need the fantastic Tahini in this diabolical tub.

Product arrived on time & in good condition. This is one of those orders that require an extra star to do justice to the quality of the product.

My family and I have been looking for good quality tahini that is also reasonably priced. We use a lot of tahini in my house, we put it in hummus and other dishes. So I ordered this so we would try it, and so far everyone likes it a lot! This is good quality tahini for a reasonable price. We are now debating whether to buy the 36 pounder for the next order. Anyways we are sticking to this brand for now, thumbs up from me! Edited to add: This tahini is good, but this last time I bought it, it looked old - it had a lot of oil on top and was thick and condensed at the bottom (signs of age). I will not remove any stars from my rating for now, because I have been buying this product consistently for a while now, and all the previous times it was very good. But I just wanted to add this note so that the producers of this product will pay more attention to quality control (so that this doesn't repeat).

Unlike other reviewers, my plastic tub of tahini arrived intact without a drop of seeping. It's beautiful, mild-tasting tahini. The lid is on tight, vacuum-sealed, and thus you cannot simply pry it off with muscle. Also note don't treat the lid preciously if you want to get it off. How I did it: I forced a sturdy flat-head screw driver through each of the perforations on the side of the lid, (look closely and you will see them), one-by-one, and pryed up each time. Sometime the plastic would break all the way when I pried, which is nothing to worry about. After doing several of these (more than half) I stuck my elbow in the middle of the lid and PRESSED DOWN on it, while PULLING UP on the edge, and felt/heard the air sound indicating the seal was broken. After that it was easy to pry off the rest of the way, stir, and pour into different containers. I put the glass containers in the fridge and the plastic in the freezer. It's a bit of work but all said and done took me 15 - 20 minutes tops, including clean up, which I think is worth it for a good price on a good quality organic tahini that should last me awhile. Some people say you can't re-use the lid, but despite what I put the lid through, it still fits on the tub. I just prefer smaller, more manageable, containers.
