Disclaimer, I am the unapologetic, unashamed "Crazy Bird Lady of White Oaks Road." I have tried numerous items to "move water' in our bird baths for the sole purpose of keeping mosquitoes from laying their blood-sucking larva on the surface during the night. These water wigglers are the only thing I have found that: works consistently, doesn't use any electricity, works when the sun goes down AND doesn't get gunk jammed up in pumps. Also - birds are more inclined to visit the bird baths with the less aggressive water wigglers than other items that splashed aggressively. I used water wigglers years ago, then switched to decorative rocks and solar powered bubblers - which were more hassle (see above). These water wigglers are genious, get the job done, and free up my time to go "full-on-Karen" with other important activities such as waging war on the squirrels destroying our property..................

This is an excellent, simple machine that is sturdy, totally water-proof, and easy to assemble. It uses 2 D-cell batteries, but they last for many months of constant use before they need changing. The water motion caused by the Water Wiggler is enough to keep mosquitoes from laying eggs, but it is gentle enough that the ripples serve to ATTRACT birds more than stationary water wood.... and the motion helps slow down the growth of algae some too. An excellent product.

Works very well. The feet are a bit hard to insert but works as intended.

Every birdbath should have one of these. It creates a slight ripple in the water the birds love. it also is a mosquito deterrent. Mosquitos won't lay their eggs in moving water. It's a win-win for all. I have a couple of pieces of birch for the little ones to land on too. It looks like it's time to clean the bath out.

The water seems to stay fresher a bit longer. The birds seem to appreciate the moving water and use the bath more frequently than when it is still. Water does not stagnate as quickly. It is not always easy to get the algae off the legs and wiggler. The motors seem to wear out despite keeping contacts clean. We get a couple of years out of them, but not more. The D size batteries are heavy.

Attracts the birds and keep insects from hatching out in the water. I do remove it on the heaviest of rain days, to minimize internal damage of the unit.

I use these in all my bird baths. They move the water very well, and birds flock to the bath for a drink, or to take a quick bath! Super easy to assemble and clean. I also use them during the winter with a water heater. The birds love it!!!
