Bissell SpotClean Pet Pro Portable Carpet Cleaner, 2458

I just bought the latest version of this after buying one from Bissell directly many years ago. I have had all the issues people have mentioned, but I have yet to find a portable spot cleaner that does a better job of cleaning carpets, upholstery, etc. The size of the dispenser tank, the dirty water reservoir, and the vacuum suction can not be beaten by any other cleaner, I have tried them all!One of the issues folks complain about is the clogging of the spray head. I have learned that the best way to use this cleaner is to only put PLAIN HOT WATER in the dispenser tank, do not put cleaning solution in it, unless you rinse it well after using solution, you are bound to get clogs. I simply apply cleaning solution from a spray bottle to the carpet, work it into the affected area with the brush on the Bissell unit while it is turned off, then turn it on to go back and forth over the area while applying the hot water, this technique is great, allows you to use multiple cleaners on different types of stains, then throughly clean and rinse the area.(ORIGINAL hose comment) The other big issue, and I have no idea why Bissell has not addressed this, is the fracture of the hose near the wand, it seems to happen to everyone, just a matter of time. I think it is mainly due to the stress put on it when wound up around the spool on the cleaner. Even this can be corrected fairly easily and inexpensively, buy a replacement hose kit, there are videos out there to show you step by step process and the replacement is usually available for a fraction of the cost of a whole new cleaner.**********(UPDATE on hose issue) I think Bissell has addressed the hose issue, in a positive way. The hose on the one I just received is no longer a clear hose with metal winding inside the hose, but a simple, soft, supple, opaque black plastic hose. Even though this may seem as if Bissell has cheapened the product, I think this hose is going to be more flexible, will last longer over time, not become brittle and break like old hose design, time will tell!**********My last recommendation, try to get this cleaner as inexpensively as possible, I bought my recent one from Amazon Resale, just make sure you get one that is in Like New or Very Good condition.Hope this helped if you were on the fence on buying this unit. Buy it, follow my guidance and you will be amazed at what it can do!

This machine is no match for cat vomit and other stains! My cat sometimes eats too fast, causing him to throw up. I was a little nervous to get a rug that had white on it, but knowing I had this spot cleaner - I went for it. Well, today my cat threw up brown all over my carpet! Eek! This guy got ALL the brown vomit stain OUT! Hooray! After spot cleaning the vomit and surrounding area, I saw just how dirty my rug was when I went to dump out the water… I was inclined to clean the rest of my rug on my hands and knees with this bad boy. Think your carpet or rug is clean?! Use this and you’ll be surprised at how dirty it is! Time to invest in a standup so I don’t have to clean this on my hands and knees next time. The suction power is also great! My carpet was half way dry by the time I was done! The machine is also super compact making it perfect to stow away in a closet. I will always choose Bissell. Oh my goodness the first few months trying to potty training my dog … we’re ROUGH! This. Was phenomenal! It was pretty easy to move around. It weighs a few pounds. This was able to get many stains out of my carpet. (Pee,poop, and vomit from my puppy) 🐶 ****just don’t put TOO much product in it without a good water ratio. This will cause a stain or lightening of your carpet *** make sure to clean it out regularly. Do not suck up baking soda, it will not clean out well. I learned the hard way lol.

I bought this product a while ago and have just now had the chance to use it. I really like it. The cord is really long, and the chambers for both clean water and dirty water are rather large (good thing). It is easy to use and to clean. It also doesn't take up a lot of space.

This actually worked way better than the one i bought over 16 years ago. I was hesitant to try it out. Glad i did though. Does the job very well, grest suction and cleaning power. Easy to carry around, size is perfect, and works hard !!

Love this machine! If you have pets that sometimes have accidents in the house, this powerful, handy spot cleaner is a life saver!! There's nothing worse than the sound of a gagging dog, but knowing messes can be easily and thoroughly cleaned takes some of the horror out of that terrible sound. A+ product!!

Don't pay full price, but you can find these for less than msrp all the time on here. They are worth their weight in gold for car detailing.

We have a large carpet cleaner, but I wanted a small one that was easier to manage for cars, furniture, stairs, and small clean ups. This one fit the bill. I've used it once myself to clean our microfiber couch. It was a lot of work, but it did a great job. The couch is cream/ beige, so it showed some dirt... plus we have cats, so there's that. After cleaning, there was a noticeable difference, and it was nice feeling like we had a clean new couch again. My husband has used it for the stairs and spot cleaning our carpets, and he loves it too. It's so much easier to set up than our large cleaner, and it gets out a lot of dirt. I would recommend this to anyone.
