Canon PIXMA TR160 Wireless Portable Printer, 50-Sheet Paper Tray and 1.44" Display

This printer is fantastic. It connects to the internet easily. It is small so it's easy to store in my RV. It's made out of quality. Not like HP plastic junk that does not connect to the internet well and the printing heads clog up all the time. It does go through ink but they all do.

Wow! Compact, efficient, and super easy to use, the Canon PIXMA TR160 is exactly what I needed for printing on the go. Quick setup (very), reliable prints, and fits perfectly in my bag when I’m taking it on the go! I’m honestly wondering why I didn’t get this sooner! Great for documents while traveling, and I’ll most likely buy another one for other uses. If you need a portable printer that actually works, this is it. Priced right for me too.

I own a massive amount of high end electronic gear of all kinds and this little gem is amongst the coolest. It's so small, sitting on my desk hidden out of view. It's black, which I love being the wright and beige stick out like a sore thumb. It's portable so you know it' got to be at least somewhat robust. I got the optional lithium battery so technically I could place it anywhere in the house without a wall plug and it'll be good to go. The 5GHz Wi-Fi is solid as a rock with modern 2025 connection. Setup took 10 minutes max. The print speed is fine, just fine. The print quality is also just fine, honestly. Just like any printer. Got a carrying case for it too, which will make it easy to protect if I ever want to take it outside, which could happen actually, now that I have the option. Big fan of this Canon. Surprised how impressed I am with it. Also an easy price.

This is by far one of the best printers I have, I travel for a living and bring it with me, so easy to use, small compact and works perfect. The only flaw is the ink cartridge holds very little ink so it runs out pretty fast.

The feature that I like the best about this particular portable printer is the fact you can buy a battery pack for it and use it remotely without having it plugged into the wall. The battery can be charged by plugging the unit into the wall directly but it can be operated without a power cord as long as you have the battery. Colors work pretty good black cartridge works really good and they're cheap enough to buy and you can replace them pretty quickly and easily. Print quality is nice doesn't excellent job and doesn't use a tremendous amount of Ink on each print job but still looks good. There are carrying cases that allow you to carry it around and they don't take up a lot of space. It's easy to store needs to carry although it is a bit weighty but not as heavy as a large size printer would be. Wireless connectivity is easy to set up both on the front panel and with software. When I set mine up I use the front panel to set up the wireless and it connected pretty quickly to my mobile router. All in all this is the printer I would recommend if you need something portable and small enough to be able to carry around with you on an everyday use. I could see this being used by business people as well as people living in RVs like I do as easy to travel with and can easily be used to print out stuff on the go or were spaces at a premium.

This ink jet printer is excellent for small jobs. I mostly use it for printing individual checks and envelops when paying bills. It also works well with small label sheets. Of course, it will also print a full size letter sheet. Easiest set up is via direct USB cable. Printing via WiFi is more of a challenge, but I figured it out. The directions weren't of much help.

I love it, good looking and small enough, prints are perfect. But, it consumes too much ink even on draft mode. When turning on and off, I have to hold the power button for over 5 seconds to turn on/off The printer never came with the battery adaptor. I can only print with power connected, though I have a battery.

PROS: First the good things; It is definitely a very lightweight and portable printer for jobs on the go. It has a wireless direct mode that can supposedly work with or without a wireless router. I did not test the latter statement. It can also be connected directly via USB wire. CONS: This printer can only print ONE SIDE jobs!!! DUPLEX PRINTING is described in detail on page 262 of the Canon PIXMA TR160 manual misleading you into thinking that this printer can do TWO SIDED printing jobs. They call it “2-sided Printing (Manual)”. What they fail to explain is that (Manual) means that you will be the one flipping pages! Duplex Printing was one of the major selling points for me and I did read the Canon PIXMA TR160 manual page 262 before buying. To be honest I did not expect this kind of duplicity language from Canon and I feel cheated. PRINTING QUALITY is marginally average, but nothing to brag about. I would refrain from calling it HIGH-QUALITY PRINTING. Canon PRINT software is poor and is designed to make you buy additional stuff like Ink or Apps not to help you do printing jobs. 1.44” OLED DISPLAY is monochrome, tiny, and is very far from convenient to operate. The printer comes with 1 Color and 1 Black Ink cartridges sealed in plastic pouches that suppose to last through quite a few print jobs. I saw a number of pages written somewhere in the description that theses cartridges are supposed to last through, but I could not find that number again now that I am writing this review. Meanwhile, Canon PRINT software shows Estimated ink levels down approximately one third for color and one quarter for black cartridges and that is after printing three pages!!! BOTTOMLINE: Expensive – if you match price to quality. A very far cry from my 20-year-old PIXMA iP6700D printer that I was trying to temporary substitute. I was deliberating whether to give it 2 or 3 stars overall and decided to give it 3 stars for now in hope that it still might prove to be somehow marginally useful and not a complete write-off.

I received the printer pretty quickly through PRIME service. The printer came in the US plug, so need to use a adapter which is expected. The printer size is just right for my small apartment and the print quality is good. Thank you for the good offer Amazon!
