overall happy with it. If you install the atk package from asus, you can light up the keyboard. I installed an nvme wd black drive with win10 pro and dual boot win home on the 2 tb drive as a backup. Remove cover is just the visible screws, and it needs to be pushed off the hinge by sort of slipping it backwards and its tight. Install win10 pro after removing the 2tb sata drive. Then put 2tb sata drive in and run this command, bcdboot D:\Windows /d /addlastand you can boot them both. When i installed win10, it put home on the nvme drive, so i clicked change product key, entered win7 pro key and it activated as win10 pro. one of the sata drive screws runs thru outer cover. I took one screw to use for the nvme drive hold down. It is pretty good even with intel 620 graphics. i also flashed to 307 bios.crystal disk mark gives 1729 mb/s read and 1628 mb/s write speeds., which is about 10 times faster than the 2tb drive. it boots win10 in about 6 seconds.

I got this laptop about 6 months ago and haven't had any problems since. It runs smoothly and only gets a bit hot when I am switching between too many Steam games.Edit: after having this laptop for a bit I am updating my review. When I first got this laptop, it would often say my wifi had no internet but stay connected. The wifi was working on all my other devices so I wasn’t sure what the issue was but figured it would go away if I used a different wifi. However, this problem has followed me through three moves and several different wifi connections. This laptop has severe internet connection issues that make it unusable. Do not waste your money

The basic hardware is good for the price however after about a month something went wrong with the connection from the hard drive to the motherboard which caused the laptop to crash every 15 minutes and give a critical process failed error, I had to buy a m.2 drive to be able to use it but when it works it works well.

Good sharp diplay@1920x1080. Some light bleed on the bottom of the screen.Battery life under 6hrs. Probably due to larger 15.6" display.Charges in a little over 2 hours.works with baboo ink active stylus sold separately. mediocre palm rejection performance.5400RPM HDD makes laptop appear sluggish. You wont regret adding an M2 SSD.Minimal effort to install SSD and reinstall windows. Laptop has Digital Signature - automates Windows activation.Linux (mint) can be installed and dual boots alongside Windows 10 although i had issues with the master volume control.

I bought this laptop at Best Buy in 2019 to write my dissertation. Shortly after I bought it, I put a SSD in it and never looked back. Beside it coming with a hard-drive instead of a SSD, I can honestly say it was the best investment.

It looks and feels nice; unfortunately the hard disk drive cannot keep up with demands posed by the basic Windows 10 operating system. As a result, the system is incredibly slow and prone to crashing. Asus has been unhelpful in resolving the issue, and my own efforts by internet search can't seem to fix it. Don't buy it.

Excellent laptop. Very lite for a 15.6 machine. I added a samsung 970 evo nvme and the laptop is silent and extremely fast. battery life with most of the back ground apps and cortana turned off approx 8 - 9 hours. Overall very happy. Deducted a 1/2 star because it should have came with the ssd and updating drivers with asus can be tricky.Asus customer service always very good.

Feels very nice, superfast, nice handling lightweight. The touchscreen is almost perfect, great quality. Wish it comes with SSD.
