HandiHoldall - 175L Waterproof Roof Bag / Top Box (Black) – Large Cargo Carrier - Solid Foldable Base

Really easy to set up, the bag was slightly too short on length as we could have done with the poles to be longer but the bag secured well with straps. We travelled 1100 miles in total and had no issues in all weathers including torrential rain. We also had room to place a paddleboard bag on top! I'd highly recommend for those who need extra storage for long trips but don't have the capacity to store long term after the trip. Folds away nicely in a portable bag.

We have a large 4x4 and with our Exodus roof box pushed to one side there was enough room to put this bag beside it. We used it for camping and it was perfect for us to pack all our clothes (family of 4) and then live out of the bag in the tent while we were away. Firstly due to it being a soft bag it does not stand to the dimensions described and became wider than 40cm, but still fit where I wanted it to go. There are four short straps to go around your roof bars and these do make the bag very secure, but are very fiddly to get in place, I found some needle nose pliers helped. There are also four longer straps to put around the bag to help keep it in place. We filled the bag to about 80% capacity with clothes and the straps were not long enough to go around the bag. I had two alternate straps that were longer that I put around the bag and used as extra straps to secure to the roof bars. I used three of the longer straps provided daisy chained together that I put around the bag and my roof box as I found on a test run that when the bag is full of clothes (making it soft) it moved around a bit, so strapping it to the box sorted this out. All in all the bag is very sturdy, made of a good material. There is a flap to cover the zip which makes it pretty much water tight and there was a lot of room in it for all our clothes and blankets. It did the job we bought it for and freed up room in the boot and roof box usually taken up with our clothes. Plus made a great storage unit in our tent for all the clothes.

The bag was secure on the roof bars with straps provided didn’t budge. Drove from Maidenhead to Croyde wind and heavy rain at one point. When we arrived there was some water in the bottom only small amount, but all our gear was in sturdy bags and didn’t get wet. I put one less waterproof bag in bin liner as someone else suggested, top tip. Overall very pleased solved a problem as I needed additional space but still needed space for surfboards. A bit fiddly getting straps tightened next to the boards I had to clamber on the bag to reach over to do it but it was ok. Great thing was it just packed away into its bag, nice and compact when we got there. I will be thinking of the complimentary bags that are the correct size to go with it next time. Just because with your own bags you don’t use all the space efficiently.

As a single mum of 4 children and having a small Yaris, I got this. It was easy to put on to my roof bars and secure. It was a life saver as it meant I could take what I needed on holiday. I would recommend this product if you have a small car.

The bag was good. Drove over a thousand miles in rain on and off and it did the job well. Trying to fix the bag to the roof is as fiddly and complicated as you can possibly imagine with stupid straps that fray and won't go through the impossibly tight holes they are supposed to thread through. Emailed them and messaged on messenger they respond through messenger and tell you to email them but they don't respond to emails. My advice, buy the bag but expect to have to find a better fixing solution. Handiholdall folks, come on, sort this out. You know it's rubbish.

Essential bit of storage on a recent festival trip with metal rood bars. Fitted snugly next to a Halfords XL roofbox. Main points: It doesn't look like the photo. It has no shape by itself, just a floppy bag. I made sides and bottom out of cardboard to give it the shape of the photo, and this helped visualise how much stuff it could fit. The straps are really fiddly, and expect to spend about 30 mins putting them on and tightening - do this in daylight if you can! Make sure the buckle is directly under the roof bar (if using metal roof bars). Waterproofness - it didn't rain during the 8 hour round trip! But the material feels thick and waterproof and in any case, i filled this with trolley, camping chairs, cooker - basically nothing that would soak up water. Overall, a life saving bit of kit. Fastening the straps (especially on the way back, in the dark!) had me questioning my will to live, but the festival would have been far worse without the extra bit of gear that we wouldn't have otherwise been able to take. Rolled back up small ready for next year!

Pratique et solide, bonne contenance. facile à mettre en oeuvre et à stocker. Seul bémol, les sangles inférieures sont un peu difficiles à mettre en place avec le sac chargé. Côté pratique, on peut facilement charger le sac au sol puis le hisser sur la galerie. Très content de cet achat. Il est même possible de fixer deux sacs sur une seule galerie ou trois paires de skis et le sac comme pour moi.

Il materiale sembra di ottima fattura!! Una volta montato esteticamente non è proprio bello, rimane molle ameno che non lo si riempie fino all'orlo!! I ganci per fissarlo sono scomodi e duri per il tiraggio, le barre sotto così ad occhio mi sembrano poco resistenti!

Habe diese Tasche auf dem Auto/ Fahrradträger (VW T6 Heckträger) montiert. Mit Spanngurten hat man an den zahlreichen eingenähten Schlaufen eine Vielzahl an Befestigungsmöglichkeiten! Da findet jeder etwas. Die Tasche hat am Boden im Inneren zwei Zeltstangen als Stabilisierung. Das gute ist - es kommt quasi keine Feuchtigkeit nach Innen und das noch bessere ist - es kommt quasi keine Feuchtigkeit nach Außen 😀 Wir haben die Tasche im Regen auf dem Autodach transportiert und es war nichts innen nass! (Montiert mit der geschlossenen Seite in Fahrtrichtung) Uns ist einmal in der Tasche etwas Flüssigkeit ausgelaufen, die natürlich auch in der Tasche blieb. Hehe. Sehr zu empfehlen um sperrige/ schmutzige/ unpraktische Gegenstände aus dem Autoinneren zu verbannen. Haben zum Beispiel für den Camping Urlaub den Campingtisch darin verstaut und den Teppich für vor das Auto + Wanderrucksäcke und Sonnenschirm und unsere Wanderschuhe... Die Tasche ist wirklich riesig!

Ende dieses Sommers haben wir mit unserer 4 köpfigen Familie einen Campingurlaub geplant und auch gemacht. Beim ersten Test-Packen habe ich gemerkt, dass die schon vorhandene Dachbox und Kofferraum für Taschen und all dem sonstigen Kram nicht ausreichend war. Daher habe ich nach einer zusätzlichen "schmalen" Dachbox gesucht, die ich neben der schon vorhanden anbringen kann. Da bin ich auf die Softbox gestoßen, welche "Theoretisch" genau neben die vorhandene Dachbox passen sollte. Alles in allem bin ich sehr zu frieden mit der Softbox. 1. Passte genau neben die vorhandene Dachbox 2. genug Stauraum für Schlafsäcke, Campingstühle, Luftmatratzen, etc. (Siehe Bild) 3. Das Spannsystem ist recht simpel aufgebaut. Musste nichts nachziehen auf der ganzen Fahrt. 4. Absolut Wasserdicht! Auf der Rückfahrt war ab Österreich nur noch Regen und das Auto stand dann auch noch weitere 3 Tage im Dauerregen incl. Solftbox. Alles trocken! Habe den Kauf nicht bereut. Über die Haltbarkeit kann ich nichts sagen, jedoch gehe ich davon aus, dass wenn die Box 2-3 mal im Jahr auf und abgebaut wird, diese sicher ein paar Jahre halten wird.

Finalement je l'entrepose encore monté dans ma cave avec les éléments dedans (2 paddles). C'est très pratique mais pas aérodynamique. Il faut bien faire des noeuds avec les sangles pour éviter qu'elle tapent sur le toit de la voiture. Je n'aurai pas dit non à une 3e barre pour avoir un fond plus stable.
