Biosta 3 Tier Sprouting Kit Green ME95

Seems like they are harder and harder to come by and what few are still available for purchase are becoming more and more expensive. If they are a must, pick up an extra set before they disappear from the marketplace.

I would give it 5 stars if the containers would nest easily. They slide all over the place and I spill water most of the time I water them.

Had one of these years ago, the stacking of the trays was awkward regarding the"FIT" of each tray on top of the other. It was purchased at a local health store.My new purchase at Amazon of another one, I find that the fit of each tray on top of each one is even more problematic.The trays are "out of round" and do not fit on top of each other as they should. It takes some time to swap the trays in order to get an adequate fit of them all. Even the top cover has a poor fit. Should not have to do this.I'm considering a return based on these facts.Simply, the trays and the cover do not easily stack/fit as they should.When sprouting, there is a need to drain/empty the bottom tray.To do this, you have two methods.1) Remove all the trays "individually", starting in the order of top to bottom in order to get to the bottom tray that collects the water.or2) Remove all the top trays "as a group", in order to access the bottom tray that collects the water.If (1) you have to re-stack the trays in spite of their inherently poor fit. A real pain if their fit is the same as my two purchases of this product.If (2) you have to "juggle" a top heavy "group" of trays to fit the bottom tray, which if out of round or warped, can be a real pain.*You cannot rinse/drain in a hurry without attention to fitting all the trays together properly.

I have been using one of these for years, it does an exclellent job germinating sprouts, and sprouts are a great budget superfood. Highly recommend. Only problem I had was a siphon cap broke, but those can be found online for cheap luckily. Excellent product. Get one and start sprouting!

As an experienced sprouter for many years I thought this Biosta 3-Tier sprouter might be interesting to try. I won't buy it again for the following reasons: 1) This brand/sprouter is only good for large sprouting (lentils,garbanzo, mung beans, wheat, barley, oats) which really require a larger tray base to area to spread/breathe ; and 2) Small seeds (alfalfa, radish, kale, etc) roll around during the rinsing process and slip through the slots in the red drain, or they clog it (even if they are sprouted in jars before adding to the trays). These points should be stated up-front in the product description. I only use the 3 trays now for sprouting wheat, oat, and barley grass for juicing (and only after sprouting first in quart jars). I have been using one of these Biosta sprouters for 20 years. It's reasonably easy to use and the sprouts are great for salads and sandwiches.
