captioned phone

Got the reference from my wife's hearing Doctor. A gentleman by the name of Steve called and set up the appointment. He was running a little late, so he called me to inquire if it was OK. that he was running late. He set up the phone about three weeks ago, then a couple of days ago he called to see how the service and captions were holding up. My answer, of course, was yes. The service works great. There was no charge for the phone or the service. GREAT company.

I rely on captions during calls with soft speaking people. The handset is so uncomfortable, I have 2 phones on my desk- 1 for captions and one to speak in. Worst design ever! Captions do not have a consistent quality and sometimes lag severely. Kind of hard when you're trying to sound professional.

I have a long term sensori neural loss of both ears (since age 5). I've been using the CaptionCall phone for about 10years. Often there are gross errors in words the captioners caption /type, even the same word used in a single sentence twice is misinterpreted with an entirely different word (usually nouns or, names). This problem occurs often even after I switch to a different captioner (option on the phone). My question is, are the captioners proficiency skills evaluated /tested? Do ALL of the caption call captioners operate from a single location ? I've decided to purchase a different model Caption Call phone to judge for myself if captioners proficiency- skills improve. It is my hope they will!

This phone is worthless! After about 4 months of use, the volume control knob is broken and does not work to regulate volume at all!!! The touch screen needs at least 5 to 6 tries to get anything accomplished--not the one touch required!!! It is very poorly put together with just about no quality to have this much go wrong with only a few months use. My older-fairly older-AT&T phone is so superior since it has QUALITY--totally missing with caption call phones. This phone does not even deserve one star, but I had to put one star to submit my review/disappointment.

Phone does everything it says it will do in the owners manual very well. It allowed us to hear callers loudly using the volume control, and to see the conversation clearly and save it if desired. It comes with a very well written instruction book (which few people ever read) and comes with a help number programmed in and it can not be deleted.Everyone with hearing issues will benefit from this phone. If you are calling someone that has trouble hearing you, they probably need one of these phones too.Great aid for all those with hearing loss and the patience to follow instructions and learn to use something new.

I see all kinds of complaints posted, 90% of the complaints could be corrected if folks would learn to read the user guide. Some people just cannot follow directions. The phone works great, I have not been able to use a telephone for years and a Captioncall 67TB solved my problem. Great phone with great service and the price is right.

I got the phone directly from Caption Call and am disappointed. The captions are generally unreliable and sometimes wildly inaccurate. Sometimes the captioning stops without warning after about 20 minutes. They need to hire better transcribers and/or upgrade their software. The product is not as advertised. Management has a lot of work to do.The one good thing is that it is free. I doubt many people would pay for this kind of performance.

Absolute top-notch phone! I got this for my father to help with our conversations and it's been reliable, accurate, and timely in delivering the captions. The quality of our conversations has drastically improved. I'm sorry to see the one star review. I'm not sure that person understands how the rating system works. You're rating the phone, not the fact that yes, some people sell these used. He is right in that you can get these phones free if you quality for one.
