Works better than the original milk can...
I could not be happier. This is well made... the non-stick liner is a great idea for clean up. We learned how to do Milk Can Dinner's while living in Wyoming... and this is the exact same thing... scaled down in size and made easier to manage and clean. First thing I made was a Low Country Boil... Here is the easy recipe: Cancooker Sausage and Shrimp Boil ★★★★★ Cajun/Creol, Can Cooker, Complete Meal, Leftovers, Main Course, OMG I want to try this, One Pot Meals, Sausage, Shellfish, Sides, Vegetables Prep Time: 20 Minutes Cook Time: 50 Minutes Total Time: 1 1/4 Hour Difficulty: Easy Servings: 4-6 Source: Cancooker.com INGREDIENTS Can Cooker Jr: 2 Red potatoes, quartered 2 Ears of Corn cut in half 2 Carrots 1/2 head of large cabbage, quartered (14 Brussels Sprouts) 1 onion, quartered 1 polska kielbasa (Sausage of choice) 12 oz can of Mountain Dew® (Beer or White Wine) 10 fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined (Optional) 10 Spears of Asparagus 1 1/4# stick of Butter Old Bay Seasoning 1 Whole Lemon quartered Salt and Pepper Optional: Cajun or Creole spices DIRECTIONS Spray inside of the CanCooker with non-stick cooking spray. Place everything except shellfish in the CanCooker. Place kielbasa on top of vegetables. Spices on top, Add can of Mountain Dew® (or White Wine). Stick of butter on top. (If doing shellfish... reserve a little of the lemon and butter to top shrimp at end) Latch the lid and place on medium heat. Once the CanCooker begins to vent steam, cook 25 Minutes, add shellfish and reserved butter and more spices, re-cover and cook for 10 more minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 3-4 minutes. Open lid carefully. Serve in a large tray and enjoy! If using Asparagus... add that with the shellfish toward the end. NOTES Made this 2/23/21: Made changes to recipe to reflect results. Can Cooker worked great. Be generous with the Old Bay and CajunCreole Spices The meal was great... the aroma incredible... easy... fast... I'm a believer ♥ This is an update to this produce review. It's not a complaint... but a heads up to anyone using this indoors on a range or cooktop. This produces steam the entire time it is cooking. The aroma is fantastic... but the steam and microscopic food particles in the steam... settle... cool on... and lightly grease spot everything near the device. You could not have any open steaming device that would not do this... it is just the nature of that form of cooking. So in the future... I'll use mine almost exclusively on the Grill, cook stove, or hot plate outside so to minimize clean up.

Great for busy work days
Very easy to use as long as you have the grates for the bottom. Food comes out great nothing sticks to bad but there is some. Cleaning is simple just toss water in it and reheat to get most out. Only complaint is the non stick coating but I guess you kindve have to have it.

Great tool to feed large groups!
I used this for a neighbor get together and fed 8 people with very little prep time and plenty of leftovers! Loved this so much that I will probably be getting them as gifts for Christmas. I used the basic sausage recipe that came with the instructions and prepared it accordingly. I added prawns in the last ten minutes and served an amazingly prepared meal with only about 15 minutes of work time. The instructions for heating were a little worrisome but watching the steam vent and turning the heat up or down accordingly really did work. My husband did buy a single propane burner to use with it and I am glad we got it. We were able to set it up on the deck and watch through the window as it cooked. I figured we could use it on the bar b q in better weather as well, but this was great for ease of use. I will probably try it over a campfire this summer. This is a great tool to feed large groups easily and quickly. From kitchen to plate in about 45 minutes. I had only one complaint and it doesn't change my mind about the cooker at all. It came dented on the bottom edge. It probably happened in shipping because there was only bubble wrap around it and it wasn't packed in too tightly. I didn't notice it until I needed to use it on the day of and decided not to worry about it. However, I did have to pound the bottom flat because the dent made the metal buckle and it would no longer stand flat on it's bottom. See pictures. My only advice is to inspect it thoroughly when its delivered, just in case. In no way did this interfere with the enjoyment of both the meal and it's ease of use. Love it!

Bigger than it seems, works equally well over fire or on the stove
We've only had the CanCooker Jr for a short period, but I feel pretty confidant giving it a five star rating already. We have purchased it in preparation for a vacation road trip we are taking as a family up the Atlantic coast and into Maine. We plan on cooking a lot of fresh seafood and, especially, lobster. I fervently believe this cooker is going to perform fantastically for the task because of our initial test meals. First, we took it camping. We prefer to cook over a fire rather than one of camper grills, so we set it on our adjustable grate over the fire with about 3lbs of pork tenderloin. I was truly impressed with the space in the Jr model, just looking at it it doesn't seem to hold much, but once I started layering the pork inside it I still had such a large space I could've cooked servings of potatoes in there as well. We purchased the Can Cooker Rack as well, and used the rack for this meat only dish. It took us about 40 minutes total to cook all that pork to a juicy, shreddable state. That includes 15 minutes to get up to steam (we use a dime over the little hole to know when it's achieved steaming), over a nice coal base, medium sized fire, about 20 minutes of cook time, and then 5 minutes to settle/cool after we pulled it and added sauce. Second, we tested seafood at home with an electric stove. Again we used the rack. We prefer to use Zataran's concentrated liquid Shrimp and Crab boil, and followed their proportions for salt, boil, and water. We layered corn on the cob, small round potatoes, and crab legs. Ten minutes to boil/steam, 20 minutes to cook, then pulled it off the heat and added shrimp and let sit for 6 minutes. 36 minutes the whole meal was done, everything perfectly cooked and seasoned. Unlike the cast iron I typically use camping, the cooker is pretty light making it super easy to cart around and small enough to fit just about anywhere in the pop up. I only wish the handles could fold down, if they did then it truly could fit anywhere. The tip to rub the cooker with soap before putting it over the fire worked impressively well to keep the cooker looking clean and silvery.
