very nice easy to use meat thermometer
This meat thermometer is a nice design and was simple to use but some of the app parts are in Chinese. It comes in a nice box and when you open it you see a nice wooden charging base which is also a signal repeater so has many uses and its well made with some nice touches. Firstly, it’s the shape of a bottle of drink (only noticed that after I took my review photos) and the back has a good magnet that is just strong enough to hold it well on the fridge or oven (any metal surface really) so it’s easy to grab when you need it.On the bottom is the on/off switch and also the modern and universal USB-C charging port (cable is included). In the middle the nice and compact meat probe clips into place to charge it up and on the front is two indicator lights to show if its paired and also charging or in use.Connecting to the app was fairly easy, (you can’t connect to it while its charging) and the app gives good readings of the probe. The only issue was a couple of the screens had Chinese wording despite all the language options being set to English (hopefully this will be fixed in an app update).Using it was good and the depth gauge on the probe is handy if not a little tricky to see and I like the wooden base being a signal repeater in case you are away from the meat being cooked.Overall, for £54.99 I like how simple it is to use and the nice design of the base and probe. It just needs a deal on it to make it better value for money as I’ve seen similar for around £40

Couldn't get the app to work :( (UPDATED)
Review from my husband:I was super excited when I first saw this cause I like all my kitchen things, appliances, etc., so I was delighted to have an upgrade from my usual probe, which has always served me very well. So I opened it up and it's very well presented in a little magnetic holder that resembles a bottle and the probe is seated inside. It doubles up with an app that seems very straightforward and easy to use. So the first time I tested it out, I just tried warming it with my hand and it seemed to work okay but it wasn’t until the first time cooking, I inserted the probe into my steak and it just refused to register any heat on the app and after messing around, I burnt the steak (well, overcooked it) and I was left feeling a little annoyed so I haven't used it again. I may try this weekend as I am doing a beef joint so I hope it works then. So far, not too impressed but that could change .....3/5UPDATE: Thought it was only fair to come and update my review after retrying this on the beef joint I was cooking and hurrah! I got everything working and it read out my temps perfectly, in fact, it was so accurate it helped me cook it to perfection so for that reason I have upped the stars. It's great :)

Broke within 6 months
At first it worked really well and was very handy the app wasn’t the best but done the job- it broke after a few months of light use (used it around 6 times total) and now won’t hold charge unable to claim of warranty through amazon and cannot find the company to contact them. Spent a little extra and bought a more reliable one and a company I know will honour the guarantee wish I hadn’t bought a cheaper version as it would have saved me money

Very poor
First use was complicated but got it working in the end. Since then I've not been able to get it to work at all. Uninstalled the app to re install it in the hope that that would work, but now the QR code for the app doesn't even work! Now left with a useless, expensive bit of kit!

Accurate and full of uses
If you want a thermometer to monitor your cooking then this is fantastic. The idea behind this is that you leave it with your food and you can use the real time readout on the app to make sure it’s cooking at the perfect temperature. It has alerts and warnings you can set if the temperature goes too high.It charges with the included dock and holds charge for a quite a while. The included case is good for taking this to a BBQ somewhere or maybe even camping. For home use I’d keep it in the dock, which is magnetic. The quality is good and the best bit is the accuracy. It’s very good. So far everything has turned out very well. I don’t think I’ve fully unlocked its potential. That will be in the summer. It is a bit costly. That said, if it works well then that can be worth paying for. The app has a few quirks but doesn’t crash and really helps with cooking. I’m happy with it.
