I bought this for my grandsons 5th birthday. He absolutely loves it. Good quality for the price

Ordered this as a precursor to getting my daughter a Squire Mini Strat, and i am IMPRESSED by this. Although it does need a few changes, its still a really great product for someone who wants their kids to seriously learn an instrument. Took it out the box and set up the action/intonation on it and changed the strings out for some Ernie Ball Zippy Slinkys. Make sure you tune this to A if youre keeping the original strings, the Ernie Balls handle E tuning abit better (remember to always stretch out new strings). The amp isnt bad but it isnt good, but for the purpose of use it functions great! The single coil is abit microphonic and has alot of background chatter, but after hooking it up to my pc using amp modeling software with a good noise gate, it sounded pretty bluesy. The chord, strap, and guitar case are abit on the flimsy side but the price point kinda explains it (compared to a squire mini strat package that goes for 299-359). Overall 0 complaints on build quality and sound, but would definitely take the time to adjust it out of the box (as you should with ANY guitar regardless of price point).

I would rate this a 4 based on value. I paid $79 for this guitar December 2025. It comes with the guitar, amp, cable, picks, strap and a tuner so you really do get everything you need to start. Pros: - You can actually play this guitar and it stays in tune relatively well (see video, excuse my sloppy playing) - You could begin to teach a child how to play electric guitar using this - The pickup/electronics are nice for the cheap guitar and sound great through a real amp Cons: - You need to know how to setup the guitar - the action comes very high which means the strings are super far away from the fretboard, making it hard to play and stay intune. You can figure this out on Youtube but its really not playable right away - Probably want to change the strings - To get the action low enough, the tail piece becomes uncomfortable to play/rest your hand on so you can't palm mute or teach a child how to do so - The frets on both sides of the fretboard are sharp - not enough to cut - but enough to potentially dissuade a child from wanting to use the guitar - The amp works but it needs a battery and it sounds very bad - The bag is very flimsy and outside of it making the guitar easier to carry, it offers no protection Overall, I could recommend this guitar to someone who knows how to setup a guitar and knows a little bit about being a luthier. It would be great for a child who is interested or who you would like to get interested because it is playable and not a toy - but not so expensive or BIG to where you wouldn't want a child touch it. You can throw a battery in the amp and let them wail away. Good value for the price and home play/learning but wouldn't reccomend purchasing to give to a child before their first lesson at a music store.

Quality is good for a beginner. My grandson began using the tuner immediately and is excited to start his free lessons.
