This light fixture is perfect. First, it is constructed well for safety and function. Both light sockets accept a decent wattage lamp and after months of use, I've had no issues with electrical or other issues. The heat level is high but directed to the terrarium below. Any metal lid or cover to your pet's habitat should be sufficient. I don't recommend using a thin or non-metallic screen to place this fixture directly on. For the money, you can't really beat this for dual lighting and heating purposes. Highly recommended!

The switch on this product stopped working within 1 month. Very disappointed. Missed the window to complete the return so I'm stuck with a damaged product
