Not quality product
DO NOT BUY. Take the reviews seriously about poor products from this seller. We received it today after a long wait. My son was SO excited to finally receive it and then absolutely devastated after discovering a huge crack on the board. You can’t use it like that. Since it was packed well, it may have been sent like that.

Started to fall about after ~1hr of use
Beautiful board... just not durable. We got it for my 13yr old son to use on a spring break trip. He had used a wood one before. After about 1hr of gentle use (mainly sand/beach riding on Oregon coast) the epoxy resin coating started to crack and flake apart at the transition on the edge to the bottom near the nose (see pic). I transported it in our trunk, in a "sock" type sleeve case and it never had any drop/fall/abuse. It was well wrapped when shipped with no obvious box damage. I don't know what caused it but it just started falling apart. Kudos to Amazon/Zap for accepting a full return (defective product). It's great looking, feel, riding, light board but just wasn't durable enough to justify the price.

Best out there
Bought 46 inch for trip to Hilton Head coast to be used by 10 year old grandson. You need the traction strips and wax. These boards are handmade and finished to a high gloss. Outperform the wooden and foam boards dramatically. 10 year old was up and skimming along the shoreline after a few hours and some hard falls. He was on the board every day when there was a good surface to skim. Considering the quality and performance of these boards they are reasonably priced. No damage thus far and the board gets prominent display in his room. If you are going to do it, do it right.

American Made! High-quality
Many reviews are because of shipping damage. That's not fair. Ours was packed well. The performance of the board is outstanding! Normal wear is expected. I would imagine that if you drop any board on it's edge on the concrete, it will damage the gel coat. Fill, sand, surf!
