This is a great replacement for your original key with one minor exception. The exception is that I could never figure out how to get the spring in the key to work. So I have to physically rotate the key itself outside the key fob (I just get a pen or something similar to rotate it). Everything else works great: locking, unlocking, starting and stopping the engine and even unlocking the trunk. I imagine someone with more skills (and patience) than me could make that work too.

If you are only swapping the circuit board but cutting a key blade from scratch, then this fob will work fine. If you are hoping to swap both the circuit board and use your old key blade, this fob WILL NOT work. If you try using your old blade/base assembly, it does not fit in the new fob. Your old key blade is too big and will not fit in the blade/housing assembly. The only option left is to grind some metal off of your old key blade.

Worked perfectly and may be a little better than the key fob that came with my Land Rover!
