I really love this product. I wanted to write a good review and was planning a video review. However, the mini USB slot pulled out, which makes it unable to charge. It pulled out under normal use when I pulled out the cable. I purchased it on September 17th and it broke on November 8th. That is just outside the return date. I wish I could give this a good review, but want to give this review in case others have trouble with the mini USB breaking.Wow, addendum: so after writing the above review I received an email from the company, and they were shipping a new one. I'm an Amazonaholic and easily buy 100 things a year. This was one of my top 5 purchases last year. It's so great it replaced the light on my lamp stand. I will eventually give this product a good review so buyers can understand the great features. This product was easily five stars, with the customer service, I have to give it an extra two stars. This is a seven star product.

Excellent lantern. There are other lanterns that are identical to this but you must remove the alkaline batteries before charging. You do not need to remove the alkaline batteries on this model to charge it.Also, some other models that look identical to this one use cheaper lithium batteries or don't come with them at all. Don't be fooled because some lanterns appear to be the same thing but have cut corners to reduce the price.Here it is over a year later. I had an issue with charging the lantern. Almost instantly the company sent me a replacement. I have rarely had customer service this good. I highly recommend this product and the company that stands behind it. You just can't go wrong!

All's I have to say is.......Rockstar!!! holy smokes. I just got it today. I am charging the rechargeable batteries now, but before doing so I tried the light with just the AA batteries installed. Smokes is that little hum dinger bright!! super kool how you can adjust the light by how far you pull it out of the base.I am so looking forward to using this on my next camping trip in June. I may actually buy another one. I also just purchased a UST Pico light, which is nice for backpacking. But for approx $15 you can buy this rockstar, so whats the point in buying anything else unless you want light & compact for backpacking. With batteries, the Pico is approx 7.5 oz. The Supernova fully loaded is approx 15.5 oz. If you can handle a little more weight & a little more size, the supernova will blow the doors off the Pico.I have been to the Boundary Waters Canoe area countless times, on the Superior Hiking Trail, & various other camping trips along MN's north shore in my lifetime. I wish this light came out sooner. Alls I can say is......"Super nice light!!!"

I purchased this little lantern for when the power goes out at my house which it does frequently. The main selling point was it taking 18650 batteries which I have plenty of. It also takes 3x AA batteries from the top but I haven't tested that out yet. I have taken all batteries out and plugged it into a power bank I have via the micro usb charging port on the lantern and it worked just fine. That's three ways to power the lantern if need be. It's very bright and convenient. So far it's been a very handy tool. I recommend this product if you're in the market for a powerful, versatile light source.

I bought this item a while ago and was a little skeptical because of all the great reviews and the fact it was sponsered. It was just strange to me at the time it had about 30 review all glowing. I took a chance and am very pleased with it. The lantern itself is compact and pretty bright. Comes with all batteries you will need plus a charging cord. The cord is basically a phone/camara charging cable. Charges quick and seems to give my phone about a half charge from dead. I would buy it again without it a doubt. The product seems to be well made and the packaging was pretty impressive to me.

A small portable rechargeable lantern that provides plenty of light and allows me to charge my phone? Sign me up! Oh wait, I already did and I love it! So far I've taken it tent camping, night hikes, fishing, as a beacon to find the boat dock at night, to help me get in to inspect the back of the furnace in the basement storage, and to charge my phone. So far it's done everything I've asked. I ran it at night for three nights of a camping trip and charged my phone completely on the second day. The lantern at least had enough power for that and was still going strong. I would buy this again.

This product was delivered in 2 days and it was ready to use. I took it out when I went camping this past weekend and this lamp was bright and made it easy to see. Plus, when my phone started going dead because we were listening to music,we just plugged my phone into my lamp. AMAZING! I would recommend this to anyone who asked.

I bought one of these to check out because I'm tired of replacing batteries in misc handheld flashlights. Its sole purpose is for when the power goes out which is not uncommon during winter storms. After receiving it and charging up the batteries, I was impressed by how bright it was for such a small lantern. So I ordered a 2nd one. I haven't had to use them yet in an actual power failure to see how long they last, but at least now I'm ready.My only complaint is that I wish there was a variable brightness control rather than the low and high settings. That would help to preserve battery life if a lengthy power outage is expected.

I bought two of these lamps. Though I can see their many uses we had a power cut a few weeks ago for the first time in ages and I felt vulnerable as the torches all had flat batteries and all I had were a few candles and one small led torch. I bought these as back-up lights and they certainly fulfill that function. I particularly like the fact that the main batteries can be recharged in the lamp and the AA batteries provide some extra strength but it works with either. I always have AA batteries in the house to this means I should never grab for a torch and find it flat again. Like the idea of the USB port to charge a phone too. Small, light yet sturdy - they do exactly what it says on the website.

Tip: Wear a welding mask before pulling on the light... would be better if the *low light* came on first but that's purely personal preference. Great bit of kit.

Brilliant little lantern. Very bright and easy to use. Holds charge for a long time. I use it every night when I take my dog for a walk.
