Just what my son needs for his TKD practice at home.
I chose this item because it is highly rated and there are a couple of these at the school where he takes lessons that have clearly taken a beating from children and adults for several years but don't have any tears. So far it is great. The height adjustment works well and is simple.Since we are using this in my basement I chose to fill the base with stones rather than water (in case it ever leaks) and I wish the opening were a little bigger, but other than that setting it up is great. It requires more weight than you would imagine to keep it stable. I have put in 150 lbs of pebbles which is enough to keep it in place for my son but it moves pretty easily still when I punch it. There is plenty of space for more weight so I'll probably put in another 50 to 100 lbs. I would definitely recommend this if you or your child want to get some practice in at home.

Worth the extra dollars for the TKD version
Bought this for my 9 year old granddaughter and her kicks and sparring saw immediate improvement. I filled with 250 lbs of play sand on sale at Lowes, and cut the bottom out of a gallon milk jug to use as a funnel. The sand was very dry and fine and ran right in. For moving or re-positioning, I remove the upper bag as recommended to reduce chance of damage to connecting pins. Now my son is 230 and what HE would prefer is a heavy bag, so his punches and kicks move the bag around a bit. But if you keep reasonable, this can, in my opinion, be used for workouts and practice by adults as well. He did mention that on hard side kicks that he thought he could feel the hard support post. So you may want to take easy and avoid going all out at first just to see how the bag works for you.Time will tell how this holds up over the next few years. But my hope is that this works out to have been a good investment.

Great bag for Tae Kwon Do/ Kicking!
Received this a couple of days ago and it looks great! The bag is a good size, very sturdy feel to it. You can fill the base with water or sand, but I bought pea gravel from Home Depot and filled it using an impromptu funnel I made from an empty gallon of milk. From what I have read and seen about this and other freestanding bags, water is just not heavy enough to keep it from moving when kicking or punching with a good amount of force. A forum mentioned gravel it worked great for me. Just finished using it for the first time and it feels great to kick! Because of the cone shape, there is an slight angle which is perfect for roundhouse, tornado kicks, etc. The bag barely moved at all because of the gravel-filled base, and it felt sturdy, but comfortable, when kicking it with force. I would definitely recommend this for training in Tae Kwon Do or other kick inclined martial arts, although I am sure you can also practice hand combos with some gloves.

Nice
This is great for my son (7) who is in taekwondo. We haven't had any problems with it and it seems very sturdy when adults use it as well if the base is filled all the way, if it's only half filled you will be able to knock it down. I do recommend filling with water rather than using sand. I thought sand would be better but it is very difficult to fill the base with sand. It looks and feels to be the same grade material of those that are in the taekwondo class.

Keep on Kicking on
Over a year of constant use for kicking and punching and it still holds up. The top zipper must remain tucked when fully zipped. I thought the wrap would rip after such rigorous use and it still is going strong. The durability is not five stars, the padding will rise and you will require smoothing out and pulling down as it will crease if struck in the same spot over repeated time. I used 3x 5 cubic feet of pea gravel inside the base. It moves slightly but enough to remain in place for 6 three minute combo sessions. Fighters various ages range from 10 - 44 years.

Not for adults...unless you're tiny
So disappointed! I spent a good amount of time researching different bags, and I finally settled on this one because it said it was good for uppercuts and kicking. Uppercuts, yes...but I can't kick this thing! I am not a strong puncher, and yet this thing had moved a ton after just a 20 minute workout. I am a pretty strong kicker so I won't even bother trying that.It took me a long time to fill this thing with water. Now I have to decide what to do with it. I guess empty the water, and fill with the sand. What a waste. I'd say only buy this for children or very petite women (maybe).

great solid bag for a home gym
I have been using this bag for a few months now and can say that it holds up well! It is quite sturdy and can stand a complete "full strength" workout. Maybe one downside is that it will move a little on you if filled with water. An adult should probably use sand, if possible, to make sure it won't move at all.

Great Training Bag
I am new to TKD and need lots of work in my kicks. This bag and a lot of stretching seems to really be helping. Even though I am giving it a 5 star rating, I must say it is hard to fill with sand. One tip on that, don't buy wet sand. The bags I got were stored outside and had gotten full of water from rain. The sand clumps and makes it very hard to get in the tank. That is a one time thing and other than that I love this bag.
