Giovanni's Room (Vintage International) Paperback – September 12, 2013

A great way to explore new, profound ways of thinking.

Baldwin is exception with words, his narrative is capturing. Very good book!

Five stars for the content of this terrific novel, but one star or less for the format, which is the publisher's fault --tiny tiny type, you almost have to have a magnifying glass to read, probably because Penguin (the publisher) wanted to make it fit into 150 pages. No way to treat a modern masterpiece! I would return it and buy another edition, but under its new returns policy, Amazon will charge me for the postage, which is almost as much as the book itself.

自分の心の奥にあるちょっとした秘密。本当は気付いているんだけど、気付かないようにしている。そして、気付かないようにすればするほど、無理が生じて、自分も他人も傷つけることになってしまう･･･若さゆえの残酷さってある。「Giovanni's Room」を読むといつもそう感じる。

Rating it 3 stars merely because the text is a little small. I have to bring it closer to my face to read better at times. The book itself is beautiful, this is my second time reading it.
