My daughter got this terrarium for Christmas. She was very excited to use it. She is 6 years old. We followed all the directions except the one that says not to put in a ton of seeds! Somehow we missed that. If you put in too many seeds, it can supposedly crowd the plants and hinder growth. Not the case here! We got tons of growth. I feel like this is a foolproof terrarium and great for little kids because you are pretty much guaranteed to grow something. We were worried that nothing would grow because the roots would choke each other out, but we have tons of growth. My daughter is very excited. Another thing that happened was she tilted the jar to look at something and all the layers got messed up before any of the plants had grown. Still worked. I am telling you, you really can't screw this up. One thing that is hard is getting the butterfly wings on. She tried to do it on her own and it ripped a little, but that didn't matter. We ended up taking it off anyway. My daughter also chose to take out some of the decor inside the jar because she wanted the plants to have as much room to grow as possible! It is very satisfying when you buy something that actually works out!

I have a toddler boy who loves to stay busy and I have to have things to occupy his mind during the day . This was super cute and he got to decorate it himself. It comes with a few cute figurines, stickers, the rocks and sand and seeds. We had the seeds sprout in about 3 days . The magic water bottle was my sons favorite. I do wish the terrarium was bigger it's rather small compared to the pics. That way there can be more decorating room and also more space for the seeds to grow as they are overly crowded.

Great product to keep kids busy, easy to setup, and fun to do!

This is a great product to teach your young child the hobby of planting things. It comes with all items needed to plant and grow a terrarium. The stickers is a great way to be creative with many options to decorate the bottle. It is really mess free - plus - it glows in the dark. Our grandchildren really enjoyed this so we plan to purchase another. The seeds in our kit began to grow in only 5 days.

My grand girls were excited to work on this project. Each of them had one. Imagine the disappointment when one was missing one of the most needed elements… potting soil. They tried to share, but that resulted in not the perfect finished projects!

This create your own kit is amazing! It brings the creativity out of the kids and keep them occoupied for hours. It also helps them to hone their skills to be organised and take care of things. The kids get down to the fun and the creative part as everything is already done for them and comes with clear instructions in the kit. The kit comes wiht a Jar with lid holes which help in the ventilation. Soil, pebbles which are clean and good with long date. Seed selection is done which grow pretty quickly and are of good size with respect to the jar provided in the kit. Further it has decorations which kids loved to decorate the jar with and spent hours doing it. Terrarium also glows in the dark and looks wonderful at night time. Kids loved the little bunny that came with it. I bought it has a gift for my daughter and she loved it. She keeps on checking her garden every day and specially before going to the bed to make sure everything is alright or some watering is needed. Excellent gift idea for children and keeps them entertained for days!

I helped the kids (5 and 7) while they did it. I recommend putting the packs of dirt, sand and rocks in little cups or containers to make it easier for the kids to pour into to jar. The instructions were good though. The kids had a lot of fun. The seeds started germinating right away too! Just put them in a sunny window, didn't buy the solar light it recommends.

The seeds really grow! After 1 week, the grass is as talk as the har!

Brought as gifts, kids will love them let their imagine run wild.
