Q: does this have a handle to take it on stairs?

Yes. but its a little heavy. I've used it once, but not on stairs. I like it, in fact just bought and received the upright taski 38

Taski Vacuums are manufactured in Switzerland. The head that comes with the vacuum is a universal floor tool, which can be used on carpet or, by pressing a button with your foot, can switch to vacuuming hard surfaces. It works just by suction. There is an optional turbo brush available thru Taski, Taski p/n 7524293, which is air driven. Great for doing deeper pile carpets
