Arrived safely and alive
My black magic elephant ears baby arrived today! It was packed well and I'm happy to report the two stems with leaves look healthy. The soil felt like it was just right; dry but not parched/crispy dry, so I think it was given just the right amount of moisture to make the trip to upstate NY. I'll be planting it in a pot so I can bring it in for fall/winter, and am doing my research to see if I can just keep it as an inside plant. I am SO not a gardener and have no experience growing plants indoors or outdoors, but I love elephants and dark "gothic" colored flowers and plants, and was drawn to this beautiful plant. This will be a test to see if I can unleash my inner dark green thumb! I can't wait to see the leaves get dark as it matures!

black magic elephant ear plant
Tiny tiny 2 leaf plant. I have no idea if it will survive. My opinion.... because shipping is extra.... not worth the money. Bought few days ago at home depot similar plant family. Quadruple the size $14.99UPDATE; 2 days later the plant died!!! waste of money.plant was so small and jovenile to survive. I will never buy from this place again.

Avoid this seller
This is what I received a rather unhealthy plant with only one surviving leaf, which did not looking to be doing well. The leaf that was damaged was broken at the stem and appeared to be in that condition several days, probably before being shipped out. I of course contacted the seller which was of no use since they didn't even respond. Overall I am pretty disappointed, I would have been happier with a sorry but you on your own rather then being ignored... will not order again.

Very small plant.
It arrived alive...but died in a matter of days - I think the plant was too small to withstand the shock of shipping. HOWEVER, I kept watering it and it did finally shoot up a new leaf. Pretty pricey for it's size, it COULD be a giftable item if it were larger. It DID say I would receive a plant between 3 & 8 inches in a 3 inch deep pot. The plant was about 3 inches. I do like how it came with it's own fertilizer. If you know what you're doing with plants and don't mind the price it should be fine.
