Ancient Cookware, Chamba Flat Clay Casserole, Large, 5 Quarts

Everything we had hoped for and much much more. We just cooked our first Tandori Chicken in it and I have to say it was every bit as amazing as the best Indian food restaurants we had enjoyed Tandori chicken at. I was concerned that the all natural, unglazed interior would mean that it would be hard to clean, but it actually was very easy to clean, no food or sauce got stuck to the interior, and yes, the flavor was much much better than cooking in conventional pans or glass cooking ware. From oven to the table, the whole experience of working with this beautiful La Chamba Black Clay Casserole was outstanding, earthy, delicious!

The lid of the pot arrived with a crack. I thought of returning, but then I decided to just call them and ask to replace for the lid. Before doing that I decided to cook something and test the pot.I made a stew and then the bottom of the pot also cracked. Also, the flavor it leaves in the food is not the flavor from traditional clay pots. In the past I had a clay pot I bought in Brazil and it lasted years. It doesn't seem this Ancient Cookware pot is made for cooking, but for decoration only.I returned it and lost $30 on it, as the shipping cost is not refundable.

All round positive experience. Newcomers, please cure before use and follow instructions. DO NOT just use like metal or glass pots out of the box.

Absolutely love the cookware.....very easy to maintain and use as compared to other earthenware.....planning to buy a smaller one as well......

I used it for more than 10 times and always flavor of food was very good but after 10 to 12 use i see cracks which starts from top to the end . Now I am not able to cook anything as crack cause leaks while cooking . I never used dishwasher and always cooked with slow temperature and clean it using hand wash and water.

A great cooking pot. I use it for many things, both on and in the stove. Keeps things nice and juicy. Cooks very evenly. One of my favorite cooking tools for guest dinners. As with my other La Chambra, the only problem is the size of the knob on the lid. It's a bit to small to get a good grip on.

This clay casserole exceeded all my expectations; so good that I use it every day now for cooking everything; stews, soups, pasta, all above the direct flame on a natural gas stove or oven.
