The ONLY dye I love & trust!
I have given other hair dyes a try & they all have FAILED when compared to Manic Panic. I have used Manic Panic for over 25 years now & REFUSE to use another brand again. It is the ONLY hair dye that “keeps” in my hair over time, doesn’t completely dry it out, smells great, is vegan & not tested on animals. My hair isn’t “porous” so I leave it in overnight with a shower cap & a plastic bag over it with a hair towel. YES this dye bleeds like crazy, but as long as you use gloves to protect your hands, a dye brush for application, apply petroleum jelly around your hairline & ears the dying of your skin is minimal. Because this dye is semi-permanent it washes out with each shampoo. I only co-wash my hair so it lasts much longer for me. I protect my pillows with a towel for the first week or so & usually only rinse it out with cool water to keep the “bleeding” to a minimum. Since I have been dying my type 4 hair Deep Purple Dream for a while now; (the only one that covers my gray evenly) one jar gets the job done for my shoulder-length hair for a root touch up. All in all I recommend Manic Panic as a fabulous alternative to traditional hair dyes!

Tried different brands and
Tints of nature purple took about 3/10 on dry hair it appeared to not color the copper I have fully and because of splat purple that i used the week before at 4.5/10 because it colored closer to this manic panic did today but once I washed out the splat it didn't take to the copper I had at all. Hair colorist know copper is a sign of bad history of hair bleach dye and it's not eas to cover, manic panic was so far the darkest on dry hair so I'm sure the result once it washes will be 5/10 or higher. I can update . I have lunar tides comes in Monday for any issue with manic panic just as a backup

Works great to make a color distributing conditioner!
I took a chance with this because I didn't actually get an answer to my question. I used the deep purple dream to make my own color distributing conditioner, and it was awesome!I have permanently dyed Dark Plum hair (matrix socolor 3vr violet red) and my natural hair color is dark blonde. As we all know purples and reds fade faster, despite not washing much, using quality shampoo and also using dry shampoo. My hair color fades lighter but also more red before my hair even grows out, which is annoying because I don't want to have to dye my hair too frequently with permanent dye.I have used Viral color wash and Overtone but they dry out my hair, which is bad anyway especially for color treated hair. So I wanted to make my own color distributing to help keep my hair dark and with the purplish tone in between perm dyes.. so basically until my roots start to show a lot.I tried the deep purple because it looks darker than the plum color. However I will try the plum one later. I mixed 3 parts conditioner (Pureology) with 1 part manic panic, washed my hair normally, and then applied the mixture. I let it sit for 10-15 minutes. The outcome was awesome as it added the darker purple tone back to my hair without it being overwhelmingly bright or just screaming purple. (Note I would love to have vibrant purple hair but my work will not permit It, so dark violet red plum it is!).Please excuse my rambling but I just wanted to share that manic panic is awesome to mix with a good conditioner if you need to revive your permanent hair dye during the in-between periods. Hopefully now I can save money and not have to get permanent dye jobs as frequently.

My new favorite
I've been a Manic Panic Dyehard since the 90s and was even featured on their website back in 2006! My favorite go-tos have always been purples and blues but I hadn't tried this one out yet. I'm SO glad I did! It's my new favorite. It's very dark and, in my naturally black hair (that is of course bleached where I want the color) starts out pretty subtle. But it's gorgeous and has been slowly fading into the most beautiful purple. Normally, when purples fade in my hair, they go brown quickly. But this has stayed purple and, 6 weeks later, is a gorgeous lavender color that not only looks pretty but looks intentional. Love it!

Blurple
Your hair will definitely be more blue than purple and will fade to more of a turquoise color. I didn’t mind this much, but others might. Purple is a difficult color.

Perfect color
Stains really bad so make sure you wear gloves. But other than that it's the perfect color and applies really nice. When I first saw it I was worried about the size, it looks so small and I was worried I wouldn't have enough. But I ended having plenty extra to dye again (only the bottom half of my hair is dyed). Haven't tested how fast it fades yet, but so far in love

Deep Dream
Have used manic panic in the past, and have had great experiences with the product. This is my first time using deep purple and it did not disappoint! I left the color in longer than what the container says. I typically leave it in for 1-3 hours vs. the 30mins prescribed (this applies to color only, not the bleaching kits). The photo is the result. To clarify, a few weeks ago I did bleach my hair, then it was dyed with manic panic dark star (gray), and now, purple. As you can see, it's overwhelmingly purple despite the color it was before. I will warn that gloves and vaseline, around ears and forehead will be necessary as this color will temporarily stain skin. Also be sure to rise throughly as my pillow case is now purple! Overall, very pleased with this color and only had to use a little bit of the container for this result!
