Along with the color the size should also show when choosing the bag. i.e : Brown-17.3 inch

How water resistant is this bag?

pretty decent, truck to house/office in heavy Florida rain (we get hit hard with rain) was fine, really nice bag, I would buy another one without thinking twice.

Is it small enough to count as a personal item for air travel?

It holds laptop but it doesn't hold shape well. It does the job but not great, the leather is ok but not great. would not buy again would look for better option
