Flowers of the Night Oracle (Rockpool Oracle Card Series)

This is the Oracle deck I have been SEARCHING for! I use tarot a lot but really have never liked Oracle decks because they’re usually so mushy and feelings-y and overly sweet- they lack the insight and honesty of the tarot. Not this deck! Not only is the art beautiful but the card explanations are very well-written and give excellent guidance and useful insight without being ambiguous and flowery. This is the deck I’ve been searching for. If you’ve been looking for a practical Oracle deck that doesn’t sound like a live-laugh-love saccharine and placating fortune cookie you’ll really enjoy this deck as well.

“Beautiful” doesn’t behin to cover how amazing the art is for this deck. The style is so lovely, each card is unique. I feel so connected to this deck. For me, it’s easy to read & easy on the eyes as well! I highly recommend this to anyone that is a collector or reader. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it is breathtaking to say the least. The black background makes the images stand out! Part of the reason this was such an impulse buy for me. It’s different than most decks out there. Absolutely adore it & don’t regret this purchase!

Don't let this dark beauty fool you. Once you get into the guidebook, you will find nothing fluffy about it. Just real talk; things we really need to know to balance out our lives. Get this deck, let Dark Beauty guide your shadow into the light. You don't have to worry about the table of contents to fnd the page your card is on, they're in alphabetical order, easy. I love this deck.

I have had my eye on this deck for several years and something suddenly told me the time was now! There are many things to love about this deck. The artwork of course is stunning and was done using wood block printing. I love the emphasis on the night, and the creatures that may pass by a flower during its nocturnal hours. The messages are very honest and straight-forward. And for each card, in addition to the card's basic message, information is given on each flower, animal, insect, etc. The author/artist is an ethnobotanist and this comes through clearly.Two things bothered me. First, in the introduction, Darcey begins the final paragraph with this sentence: "I do not want you to think yourself particularly favored by flowers, especially those of the night." What an odd thing to say; nothing of the sort would have occurred to me. And the book does have touches here and there in the text where the author seems to feel she is the self-proclaimed keeper and protector of the plant world, which is a little off-putting. Second, in a section titled, "What is a Flower Reading?", she discusses the connection and communication between plants and between humans and plants in a general way, but nowhere does it ever tell what a Flower Reading is, or how to do it, only that it can be done with fresh or dried flowers, this deck, or teas or essences. I would still like to know: what is a flower reading?Those minor complaints aside, it's a very unique, beautiful, and unusual deck which refreshingly avoids fluffiness.

I loved this deck since the first time I saw it in puctures...something about the pictures with pops of color on black background and glossy finish. It looks great (lovely back), feels great when shuffling, and reads really well. I usually combine it with a tarot cards reading. Always spot on. The cardstock is slightly glossy, not too thick, not too thin, just right. It comes with lovely sturdy box and a great booklet. My only complaint is about the printing: I would have loved a larger font and darker ink. Other than that, I am really satisfied with my purchase.

First I want to say that this deck is GORGEOUS and I'm so excited to work with it it. The packaging and outer box was flawless, everything was as it should be until I took the cards out and pulled the plastic sleeve off. The card that was on the very bottom of the deck (Wisdom) has a very noticeable creased corner. It's so strange because the card wasn't bent when I pulled it out of the box - it's almost as if it was bent, straightened out, and then placed in the deck.I'm torn because I don't want to request a replacement just for a single card since I know the deck I send back will end up getting tossed anyway, but it also bothers me very much. It makes this card lose anonymity when working with the deck, and I'm also afraid it'll get easily torn now that the card is already compromised. My other option is to just remove the card from the deck but I hate doing that - it was included in the deck for a reason! I really wish I could just get a replacement of this one card.

The art is wonderful. I love the black background. Pictured are flowers from around the world and creatures that live near them. It is a low key soothing Oracle deck. As a plant lover, these cards are so enjoyable and make me feel like I have taken a break in nature.

Very pretty I love the artwork on this. Its got a sense of moon energy and has dark vibes but not evil I mean like peaceful positive dark vibes. It’s very glossy and sturdy card stock. The cards do stick so you’ll have to separate them all once you get them out I think it’ll only happen if it’s set for a long time. Perhaps static energy makes them stick. But regardless it’s a great oracle! Maybe pair it with a moon oracle or moon tarot.

Beautiful cards. I love this Australian author aswell she is a botanist. You also learn about the flowers in her guide book that comes with the cards. I got her other flower card deck aswell. She should be highly praised.

I love these cards so much! They’re absolutely beautiful and the book that comes with them is easy to read and understand. Gorgeous designs, well made, superb quality.

Also, ich schicke es nun zurück, weil es mich nicht ganz anspricht. Beinahe, aber bin auf dem Minimalismus Trip und behalte nur noch, was mich ganz tief berührt und erfreut. :) Dennoch ist die Qualität der Karten sehr gut. Sie kommen in einer stabilen Box und sind sehr glatt. Das Begleitbuch ist bebildert mit einer kurzen sachlichen Beschreibung der angezeigten Pflanze und falls vorhandenen auch des abgebildeten Tieres. Auf der anderen Seite ist die Bedeutung der Karte zu lesen. Die Karten sind wirklich schön. Wer englisch beherrscht für den wird es einfacher sein, die Texte zu verstehen. Ich musste das ein oder andere Wort nachsehen. Jemand der gar kein englisch kann, sollte es sich wohl nicht antun. Im Buch sind ein paar Legesysteme beschrieben. Hätten alle Decks die ich besitze die Note 1, so hätte dieses eine 2 +. Also, ich empfehle es, obwohl es nichts für mich war. :)
