Wonderful heavy duty juicer. Made in USA!
We previously had a juicer my husband had bought decades ago from a restaurant supply store. But the paint was chipping off and the parts that was in contact with the fruit was made of aluminum and had pitted badly. This juicer blows that one out of the water. Stainless steel where the fruit is in contact and therefore I can put it in the dishwasher. Beautiful mechanism for juicing. Built like a tank. I appreciate that it's not painted so don't have to worry about paint chipping off down the road. Big bonus is that it's built in the USA. People need to keep in mind that USA products are generally more expensive because our workers are paid more. This juicer is a worthy or being passed down to generations. Buy quality, not quantity. The only negative is that it's too tall to put in my undercounter cabinet where the old one was.

The best juice from the best tool
I am a beginner. I used to buy the super premium juice and squeeze an orange or two into it via the oldest of old fashioned glass juicers. That is great by the way. But when the whole glass is full of fresh squeezed (9 hours ago) juice... it is spectacular. Be sure to sit down. The Nemco is exactly what I hoped it would be. Looks like it will last generations. Simple elegant design. It works. It makes my juice pretty fast. I am done with commercial juice. Juice oranges... valencies are indeed best... small less costly. I love grapefruit... cut it into fourths. The "point" the bottom piece is where you put the quarter grapefruit with skin side up. -Perfect, one grapefruit makes a good ten ounce glass full. The waste material is dry. It's not as easy as you may think to find a spot to work it. The handle needs to ROTATE more than just one time around. A safety issue is that one could be whacked by the handle before developing an ...approach. Don't leave handle up unless you are ready to put the fruit in place. You don't want anyone around to touch it whilst you work. No kids. It won't kill anyone or even seriously injure... but a nice clunk on the head could happen. For instance... the thing is such a powerful lever that a slight push on the top will make the handle spin. We don't want that. You don't want anyone's finger to get juiced. It would be difficult to hurt yourself because your hands are busy. Get a system of where to put your non-handle hand to both keep it safe and to help keep the juicer steady. It's heavy and has good rubber feet, but just a little smartly placed pressure makes it more secure. I developed some good mess control. It becomes obvious. The beauty is it's silent. It makes perfect juice as efficiently as it can be done. Choosing the best fruit becomes a key. I made lemonade... it takes a lot sugar just to get it in range of Paul Newman brand. But you are using real sugar. I'm now perfecting my container system for the juice as well as my fruit barrel. You want a container that you can shake. Glass with screw top seems best. I picked up an Italian one that's perfect... the Italian version of our canning jars. If you are a juice fanatic... you will love it. I "store" it on the floor next to a cabinet. It gets cleaned every time I use it anyway. I don't have space to leave it on the counter. If you are a very small person, it might not be worth it. There are good electric devices which though less efficient and effective... provide way better juice than the commercial pre-squeezed.

Simply the best, and is made in the USA
I own many citrus juicers, both manual and electric. The electric ones I own that have a press handle like the Breville and the Hurom are nice and easy to use, but they both have a major design flaws where the upper cup connects to the handle. I don't think either will last since the connection points are plastic. I feel I have to be very careful operating them so that I don't break them and kind of worry about the rest of the family members that are not as conscientious. As far as these 2 go, I prefer the Hurom, the Breville is very over priced in my opinion. For manual presses, I have Experian models (made in Mexico) from lime to grapefruit size. While they work ok, the materials and craftsmanship are quite poor (e.g. the aluminum cap nuts on the pivot points are a joke and just a bad idea). I also have the Olympus XL, which is pretty good, but made in China. I have a Citrus X also, basically the same thing as the Olympus, also made in China. Both have parts that loosen are are not too stable during operation. The Nemco is by far the best product of all of them. The thing, while it is built like a tank, is not too heavy due to the mix of aluminum and stainless steel parts. The 20:1 leverage ratio is dream to operate. It simply works and has no flaws that I can find, and I am certain the thing will last several generations. And, it's made in the USA, I'm sick of sending my money to China for just about everything. So while this model is not cheap, it is virtually perfect in my opinion, especially for someone with lower upper body strength. It's a keeper!

It’ll out live you.
Excellent craftsmanship, really well built, and made to last. The price tag is just a bit much.

Ya get what ya pay for
I previously bought a black Chinese made juice press for $90 and the whole thing flexed quite a lot when pressing, the screws would loosen up frequently and the strainer piece didn’t fit the press cup very well. That old one is also rated well on Amazon so go figure. This one has none of those issues and since the cup fits the strainer perfectly, the Nemco press gets way more juice out, probably 50% more. The Chinese one also pressed citrus in a funny way where if you pushed too hard, the oils would come out of the peel and ruin the flavor or the juice. Two things to know about the Nemco are- it’s tall and may not fit under your kitchen cabinets. The good part about that is you can fit a typical pint glass under it. The other thing to know is the handle cranks a gear to press and the handle rotates twice for each press. The Chinese one was like a slot machine, pull down once per press. If you plan on using a juice press for more than a year or two, maybe want to pass it down to your kids, spend the money and get this one. Built waaay better and gets much more juice out of your citrus.
